Yarde and Tunde get a lot of grief for the whole LIONS IN THE CAMP shtick but Tunde's gonna have to holler it twice as much in between rounds if Yarde's to have any chance

Now 26

I saw Yarde say he wants to unify the light heavyweight titles :shame: No...you want to do absolutely nothing to earn a shot at a unified set of titles or undisputed crown.

Yarde hasn't got anywhere near the gumption, ability or power to win a world title and then go
on to dethrone 2 or 3 other champions

What's this guy smoking :stop:

Besides which, he's with the wrong promoter if he wants to be an undisputed champion.

Just grow a pair and fight Buatsi...but we know you won't, until you've lost another undeserved world title shot and your options are looking thin

I used to really dislike the fact that Yarde was given a world title shot off the back of absolutely nothing. Embarrassingly so.

But since the Kovalev fight he has shown he is game and his wipeout of Arthur was very decent.

Huge task for Yarde but respect for wanting it and a tidy payday too.

Winning already unified belts it’s unifying the titles.

Bert won the IBF, then beat a good champion in Gvoz to claim the WBC, and now just beat a highly ranked World champion in Smith to claim the WBO.

That’s unifying the division.

Considering Warren has got Yarde a shot at Beterbiev’s 3 belts and Ring mag title that’s a bit
ridiculous to say he’s with the wrong promoter.

As for the fight, whilst I expect him to lose by KO he is coming to the ring with heavy artillery himself. He could catch Beterbiev with something big to head or body himself - h3 has been hurt before.

Bert doesn’t have the Ring belt.

He is the Lineal champ though.

Ring stripped Stevenson because he kept defending the belt against boxers outside the top 5. I think you need to defend against a top 5 at least every 2-3 years.

So when Gvoz beat Stevenson, he only claimed the WBC and Lineal belts.

The only thing that's ridiculous going on in this thread is whoever voted for Yarde to beat Beterbiev on points :oo
They're on a real flight of fantasy with that prediction

First off, i'll believe it when I see Beterbiev and Yarde in the ring. So let's not gush over W@rren's ability to get a fight over the line just yet.

Secondly, Yarde claims he wants to unify the division. He's shown practically zero appetite for taking serious fights bar Kovalev where he had f*ck all to lose (so to speak).

Buatsi has just seen off the highly capable Craig Richards. Who would Yarde's equivalent be ? Lyndon Arthur
Well, Yarde got tamed in the first fight before winning the rematch convincingly....and Lyndon Arthur is a poor man's Craig Richards!

For all of the shed load of boxers W@rren has had on his books over the decades how many were undisputed world champions ? Not many !

Fully agree. Should be the Bivol fight next and Yarde doesn't deserve it at all. However, selfishly, I would like to see a prime elite operator like Berterbiev in the flesh, and if it's Yarde as sacrificial lamb then personally I'm not going to grumble too much.

Unless it falls apart for some reason, Bob Arum of all people said the fight is done.

Beterbiev is a killer and the clear division No 1 as we know, so going on about Yarde’s apparent lack of appetite for tough fights has got to be a joke. Beterbiev has 3 of the belts, so if he is somehow able to beat this Russian Tank, why on earth would you find his comments so bizarre that he would like to go after the last remaining belt against a far less powerful (not skillful) Bivol :o

How many undisputed British World Champions have there been Lennon Lewis..who else?
that’s a bizarre comment

Of course we want to see the unification, but these things don’t ever happen fast do they ? and if the big man is willing to come to London and take on Yarde in meantime, that’s fantastic news for British fans. I mean if you look at the other contenders it’s not exactly inspiring stuff ( Jean Pascal again anyone ? ) so why not a big punching, ballsy fighter like Anthony Yarde ?
Benn gets a lot of criticism for not facing anyone, and Yarde gets criticism for taking on two of the hardest titles shots you could wish for..
Johnson gave him a decent fire fight, Yarde can too, especially as Bert won’t be expecting much at all on his London tourist visit. I’ll go to this as you probably won’t get the usual thousands of coked up casuals turning up either

Winning multiple belts off a fighter (Fury v Wlad, Usyk v Josh or Yarde v Bert  ) might technically be seen as unifying the titles. For me a proper unification fight is two world champions squaring off (Bert v Smith in New York for example).

Some mentalist has gone for Yarde by decision.

Since Kovalev he fought a mexican middleweight with 48 losses on his record, came in overweight vs Spelman who took the fight on a few weeks notice, lost to a one armed Arthur, came in overweight again for Theran who has now lost 6 of his last 9.

Beat Arthur comfortably in the rematch when Arthur was terrible and since then has sat on his hands for 14 months.

The Kovalev shot was undeserved, and so is this. Don't get me wrong I hope he gets it and takes it, but it's no more deserving than his previous shot.

I’d love to see Beterbiev vs Bivol but it’s a tough fight to make at the moment. It’s a great fight but who’d pay for it outside of hardcore boxing fans? I’d imagine that it’d be a monster fight in Russia but obviously can’t see it happening there at the moment for all of the belts and if it was done in the US then it can’t be PPV and I also can’t imagine it selling well at the box office.

They would both probably get more money as things stand fighting the 2 Brits in Yarde and Buatsi and then Bivol would look to fight Canelo again afterwards.

FW is a master at getting his fighters high up the WBO rankings. Archie Sharp is number 1 FFS! After Lyndon Arthur (who I don’t particularly rate) who else has Yarde beaten to deserve to be mandatory twice?! It’s a joke really.

I’d imagine Frank will look to put it on PPV and has told Bob it’ll do great whilst in reality it’ll probably do 100k buys. It’ll be a fun fight though.

Yarde should have beaten Kovalev and Arthur 1 but he has such a terrible training set up that he lost those fights. He also doesn't seem too bright and seemed happy to lose to get the experience. You could have employed top trainers and not had to get KO'd by a jab and suffer a humiliating loss to Arthur in the first place but there you go. Beterbiev aint losing to Yarde, no chance. I would like to see Yarde win just to see Tunde riling people up :OhYes:

Callum Johnson put in a cracker of a performance against Beterbiev in hindsight.
