Style-wise, Fury knows Usyk is bad news for him. Wilder has a better chance to beat him. Fury hates southpaws with good footwork. He'd be turning circles trying to maul and hang on him, while taking a lot of shots.

If Chisora and AJ can hit Usyk, Wilder will eventually. He can KO you when nearly out on his feet himself.

Usyk by stoppage in 5-6 rounds, with Wilder landing about 8 punches over the entire fight.

Maybe Usyk won't risk and force a KO, but, yes, he can do it too.

Probably the most intriguing fight in the division.

Based upon skills, Usyk all day long.

Usyk also has a great chin and is a dog when he needs to be, however, he has never been cracked by Wilder's demonic Right hand.

Wilder also is a dog and unlike many vaunted power punchers before him, carries his power late into fights.

On balance, l'd favour Usyk by UD, but I never fully bet against Wilder with full confidence, unless the man in the other corner is called Tyson Fury.

Usyk Plans To Retire After 3 Fights, Wants Farewell Bout In Ukraine

It appears the end is near for Oleksandr Usyk’s illustrious career.

The 2012 Ukrainian Olympics gold medalist, former cruiserweight king, and current unified heavyweight champion of the world is planning on retiring after three more fights.

“I can fight three times more at the very best. It's a realistic perspective for my top form. With [Tyson] Fury, Canelo [Alvarez], and a farewell fight at Olympiyskiy [National Sports Complex in Ukraine],” Usyk said in an interview on his YouTube channel. “With Canelo, he said he wanted to fight me. It would be a freak fight just for the sake of earning money. People say I’m a freak. If they [Fury and Joshua] sign the contract, they will punch each other for a while. But the thing is that everyone is expecting Usyk versus Fury for the undisputed championship, which for many years hasn’t occurred in the heavyweight division.”

The WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO, and Ring Magazine champion Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) will turn 36 years old in January, and he’s already stated that the next time he’ll step in the ring to defend his titles will be in 2023.

Usyk has been open to a fight with Fury, but he wants to do it on his own terms, citing the need to allow his injuries to heal.

Alvarez has also expressed interest in challenging Usyk.

In recent weeks, Usyk has also alluded that he’s open to fighting former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, going as far as saying he’ll be present for Wilder’s next bout against Robert Helenius on Oct. 15 in Brooklyn.

Usyk became the heavyweight champion in 2021 after decisioning Anthony Joshua. Usyk also beat Joshua in an August rematch via decision.

How do you arrive at the notion that Fury was supposed to win?

Have you forgotten that Wilder cherry-picked Fury for a voluntary defence precisely because Fury wasn't supposed to win?

Wilder thought he'd flatten the big mouth Fury early because Tyson wouldn't be ready for a fight of such magnitude.

Wilder was right about one thing, Fury wasn't fully ready for the fight, but he was still better than Deontay at his absolute best.

No need for smelling salts. :OhYes:

I doubt it, Usyk wasn't even a massive puncher at cruiser, and he doesn't commit to his shots.

Usyk will be looking for a points win, and I expect him to get it.

wilder has had a long time out of the ring since the end of the trilogy when he was battered - so until he gets in with helenius and then probably ruiz we wont know whats left .
Lots of people on here making daft assumptions about wilders power based on fights from years ago against some really stationary opposition with limited skills .

Usyk's Manager Says Deontay Wilder is Real Option For Next Fight

Egis Klimas, the manager of WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, says Deontay Wilder is certainly a realistic option for his boxer's next fight.

Wilder, a former WBC world champion, is returning to the ring on October 15th, when he faces Robert Helenius at the Barclays Center in Las Vegas.

Usyk was in action back in August, when he outboxed Anthony Joshua to secure a twelve round decision win in their rematch.

The Ukrainian boxer is looking to get in the ring with current WBC champion Tyson Fury in the first quarter of 2023.

But, Fury is looking to stay busy by taking a fight on December 3 - potentially against Joshua.

“Hopefully everything is going to line up [with the Fury fight] and we will see,” Usyk’s manager, Klimas, told Talk Sport.

“I’m hearing [Fury] wants to fight on December 3, which we don’t have a big problem with. But, on the other side, it’s boxing and things happen, breaking hands, breaking legs and stuff like that, so it’s hard to predict, but fingers crossed we are going to be ready. From our side, we are going to be ready 100 percent, so if the fight does not happen, don’t blame our team.”

However, if for whatever reason Fury is not available to fight early next year - then Usyk will turn his attention to Wilder - provided he defeats Helenius.

“It is a very possible fight,” Klimas said, “and actually, [Usyk] called and said, ‘if Fury’s not available and we cannot fight Fury, I would like to fight Deontay Wilder’. So, I asked him why and he said, ‘because he’s a risky fighter and I like that’.”

Wilder's two career defeats came at the hands of the same fighter, Tyson Fury. In their dramatic trilogy, Wilder scored four knockdowns on Fury.

I agree, some fighters are never the same once they've been tumped up once, and Wilder's had two tumpings, back to back.

For Wilder being such a poor boxer, 24-20 in the poll in favor of Usyk makes me laugh.

The 25 is Usyk Decision and 20 is Wilder KO.

But when we have many who think Usyk can pull off a stoppage but none who think Wilder can get a decision..

I guess, a lot of those who voted for Wilder to KO Usyk, think that Wilder will be behind on points at the moment of a KO. Of course, Wilder is a huge puncher, but here people overrate Deontay's power and underrate Usyk's chin. Wilder wasn't able to knock out cold eveybody he faced, while Usyk hasn't even been down and has taken clean shots of Briedis, Gassiev and Joshua.

I think Wilder would KO him, and I'm not a fan of Wilder at all.

Usyk has never really hurted any heavyweight at all has he?
Usyk simply never faced a heavyweight with real one hit KO power like Wilder.
There's a reason Usyk ran away from Tyrone Spong with all kind of excuses acting like Spong had illegal substances in his body and such, something highly unlikely to be true. Usyk simply needed some fame and that's where Tyrone is perfect for, getting your name out. Many boxers act like they want to fight Tyrone, but in the end never actually do because they know the odds are really high he will KO them.

I think Wilder would force Usyk to move around more than he usually would have to which would make it a lot more harder for him than the Joshua fights were. Wilder is so reckless and wild swinging, with pretty good hand speed in his own right, I can see him landing some goofy shot on the Ukrainian and bowling him over on his ass because Usyk was off balance.

That being said the Ukrainian has such a high IQ and has demonstrated his own toughness taking Joshua's best shots to the body and all, that I do think it would most likely go the entire distance. It would be a categorical mistake for Usyk to try to mix it up with Wilder too much.

I actually think this has the potential of ending in a draw. Or dare I say a split decision either way. I think when everybody is long retired history will essentially show that Wilder was arguably the second or third best man of his era. Not on skill or on ability, but on the fact that he was so awkward and hard-hitting with absolutely no let up that he made an awful lot of people look like crap no matter how skilled they were.

Well I mean think about it...

Joshua's lost 3 times already. Wilder's lost to only Fury. Fury and Usyk have never lost. No offense to anyone else in the division, but they are clearly well below those four. Wilder at present has to be #2 or #3, and if he does fight the Ukrainian and it is either very competitive or even manages to win I don't see how anyone could argue against Wilder being #2 or #3.
