Anyone else think Joshua fights Hrgovic for the vacant IBF title after Wallin?
Hrgovic is ranked 1 - Usyk will vacate after Fury 1.
To me it seems obvious

It seems like that's definitely the thing stopping them from saying they'll fight Wilder 100%. I mean, it's actually a good matchup, just not the one we all want. Hearn/Joshua are probably hoping that Parker wins so they can do this.

They can agree in principle to the fight.
What if they both lose, then what ?
It's a great match up I love it, it's good for them good for the division and good for the sport.
But you got to go out there and win and win in impressive and entertaining style to sell it, it's up to them.

Reports now that Joshua-Wilder will be a two fight deal that will be signed prior to the weekend fights. There seems to be a lot of guesswork going on by 'journalists' at the present time.

Yeah, this fight is dead in the water. Not that I enjoy boxers doing this, but Wilder's team ought to get shot (figuratively speaking of course). What a dumb decision to put him against Parker. Dude lost out on millions now. Not sure where Wilder goes now, probably Anderson or Ngannou? Dude's championship run seems done, though.

Pretty sure Hrgovic is mandatory to Usyk. I doubt he takes another risky fight, imo.

he is the ibf mandatory. my guess is the usyk-fury winner is gonna be stripped by the ibf for not fighting him on time, freeing up the ibf for josh-hrg

If Wilder is looking to add money to his retirement plan, Ngannou is the way to do it.

Personally, my interest in seeing Joshua-Wilder never depended on the idea that either of them was unbeatable. We'd already seen Wilder get beaten half to death by Fury twice, Joshua get knocked silly by Ruiz, Joshua get outboxed by Usyk twice... I mean, they both could have lost today, it doesn't matter to me. I'd still like to see what happens when they fight each other.

I don’t care the results of 23rd, this fight should still happen next… if one gets horrifically KO’d move it back to may… but this should be next regardless.
Still think so?

Honestly, yes. I would still be dead keen for it.
Although when I wrote the comment I didn’t expect wilder to have zero success…
But I would still watch the fuk out of it.
Styles make fights. Parker played it perfect, that dipping over hand really kept him safe and wilder in danger…
Aj is a solid favourite now, but fornicate yea I would still watch.
Although wilder vs miller, aj vs hrg, winners fight, makes more sense now honestly…

Makes sense to me too.
For the sake of posterity alone, we need to see Joshua v Wilder.
I don't think Wilder needs to get involved with Ngannou, unless there's absolutely nothing else left.
Miller is the far better option.
Miller's defeat against Dubois showed he had plenty of heart to back up his big mouth. Kind of makes you want to forget all of his PED misdemeanors.
Wilder v Miller is an ok comeback fight for Deontay Wilder. Those who said that Parker was all wrong for Wilder obliviously seem to know a lot more about matchmaking than those who guide Wilder's career.
The idiotic decision to sack Mark Breland has also not worn very well...

Wilder is done as serious contender. He needs to take the best $$ he can get.

38 is a good time to retire. Whenever he fought anyone decent he lost rounds so that was nothing new. His lack of effort was new. Not sure if he didn't;'t have the wind to throw more hard right hands or if he was too scared of counters by Parker.
He was also rusty. You need to fight more than that. Perhaps if he fought 2 or 3 guys in the top 50 in the last year, the result could have been different. I don't know why these guys are so inactive.

The problem is: he hasn't fought anybody serious until he was 33. Managed to not fight Wlad, AJ, Usyk.

Wilder is 1-3 in his last four. He's 0-3-1 against top 10 opponents. He hasn't beat anyone younger than him since Szpilka in 2016.

Are you not counting Ortiz as a top 10?

Gosh, your very understanding.
If Parker beats Wilder, then Wilder is done-pure and simple. Putting him in with AJ after that is madness, not even the sportswashing saudis would want a bar of that.
Wilder was done after fury 2, AJ was done after Ruiz, fury was done after nganu, Parker was done after Joyce, Joyce was done after Zhang….
Everyone can’t be done when they loose, or you end up with lovejoy like boxrec records.
Right now it’s 50-50… if AJ blasts out wallin, and Parker blasts out wilder it’s still probably a 75-25 fight. Which is more than close enough to warrant given 8 years of build up.
If wilder is conscious he is a chance vs AJ, done or not done.
Sorry Greg, but I stand by the fight not being anything more than one sided.
AJ made an adjustment and boxed for 12 solid rounds with Ruiz barely allowing him to work.
He has better ring IQ than Parker, better height and reach, and has already proved he can be switched on for a 12 round fight.
That bodes very badly for Wilder.
His team have been avoiding Joshua for a very good reason, and so this fight will be a cash out for Wilder if he takes it.
