AJ for me, not an MMA follower though so don't know if Ngannou is susceptible to getting stopped or going over.

I’ve a feeling FN is ‘teak tough’ and won’t be stopped by anyone. He’ll lose on points then go to the PFL

I didn't like Hearn kicking Wilder when he was down so I will be cheering for Ngannou. And if he hits Joshua and he starts doing that stutter step, then I think my heart might skip a beat from excitement. :yay:

So you don't like AJ because you don't like Hearn?

The only serious fight for Joshua is with Fury if Fury beats Usyk.
A quick ko of ngannou would add to the hype.

Seriously, the sooner ngannou and the MMA mob disappear, the better.

If AJ beats this guy, what are the chances a fight between AJ v fury will be in the UK?

Ngannou does indeed look to have a very solid beard, not surprising looking at how he's built, huge tree trunk neck and massive shoulders, and his jawline is like an anvil.

However, tanking shots from MMA fighters, who tend to generate less power in their punches due to their stance, and being able to take shots from a very big and well schooled heavyweight puncher who specialises in boxing, is another thing entirely.

It could be that he ends up stopped on his feet, after shipping multiple big shots, to save him from punishment.

Joshua needs to get over the front foot with the jab, back Ngannou up, and take it to him from the get go, he has superior skills and a superior arsenal too. Put it on Ngannou and back him up, and take his power away.

Let's be honest, he looked basic against Fury, and landed very little, it was just a shite fight, and Fury looked very much past it, or unfit, hard to be certain which.

Maybe it is petty but ultimately it doesn't matter who I root for as it will have no bearing on the outcome. It is kind of silly that we feel a need to take sides and not just watch it objectively but that is also part of the fun of it is living vicariously through the combatants. ;-)
It is only somewhat relevant I guess that this fight is taking the place of Joshua vs Wilder which we will now probably never see.

When he was down? He looked happy to lose, which was weird.

If Eddie is such a visionary why didn't he pair them against each other in December? Because he is full of it that's why. :-P

The fight makes a lot more sense now, that it did previously, precicely because Ngannou did so much better than expected against Fury.

Joshua should flatten him pretty quick i think, my only reservation is the current Joshua does not have that same killer instinct he had pre Ruiz, he is more cautious and takes more time to find and set up the big shots now, but still, i think he gets the job done quickly, in 3 to 4 rounds. I'll be surpised, and quite dissapointed, if it goes past 6. I want Joshua to show the world there are levels to boxing, and to redeem for the sport what in some ways Fury's performance against Ngannou kind of lost.

Too soon for Ngannou to fight again. I mean the #1 lineal heavyweight champ couldn't fight again so soon, so a bit crass expecting Hearn to drag a 0-1 boxer back into the ring to square off against Joshua.

Very unlikely, Fury will have to beat Usyk (twice), but im not sure if the fight even happens once and if it does I think Usyk wins at a canter. If Fury does cause an upset, the Saudis will offer so much money it will have to happen there.

This poll would be a bit more interesting and insightful if there were options to vote on how the fight will be won, i.e. Joshua points, Joshua KO r. 1>3, 4>6 etc.

Or because Ngannou dropped Fury and proved himself against one of the top guys in the division. :maybe:

Not a fan of this fight at all. Joshua will do what Fury couldn't though and make it an easy nights work.

You don't think Ngannou proved his boxing credentials against Fury?

Sorry I meant why didn't he stage Joshua vs Wilder, at any point, if it was such easy work? I have my reasons for cheering for Ngannou just like some of you will cheer for Joshua and not care about who Ngannou is as a person, or what he has accomplished. Someone called him a joke. Then take a look in the mirror. :-P

According to those in the know, Hearn had been frozen out by the Saudi men. It appears that the only reason he got back in was to save Fwank & Fury after Fury pulled out of the December date and a 'best of the rest' card needed to be put together to appease the Saudis. It would have been too short notice to pitch Joshua v Wilder given the negotiations required, so that was instead being lined up for March. Only Wilder got beat easily by Parker.

You said you were supporting Ngannou because of Hearn putting the boot into Wilder while he was down. Hearn has always put the boot into Wilder.

Joshua is a serious puncher unlike Fury. You can have the best chin but if you can`t avoid big right hands bouncing off your head then sooner rather than later your legs are gonna go.
As some of the better fight analysis showed, Ngannou kept it very simple and didn`t allow Fury any of his advantages - Ngannou was bigger, much stronger and fitter than Fury - Ngannou also being teak tough.
Joshua will be as fit, similar strength .. but much better prepared.

Joshua starts his now typical cautious self and revs it up as he finds landing the big right hand ever more easy. Mid to late stoppage for Joshua.

Difference between this and Fury, is that AJ is way more conventional and easier to hit. So Frank may get a few shots through easier than expected. He is big, has reach and has suprisingly great timing and can through power from any angle (from MMA days).

But you would expect Joshua to come through it with the boxing fundamentals and Ngannou being open down the middle.

But if somehow Ngannou can catch Joshua early, it may not be as easy a night as we are expecting.
