This thread will age very well.
Usyk is a very special talent indeed.
I see him as a sort of pseudo saviour of the HW division.
In this era of Godzilla sized HWs, a more traditional sized HW has managed to emerge as arguably the premier HW of this era.
Let us hear no more talk about someone of 6' 3" and about 225lbs being 'too small'.
As Usyk has proved, skills pay the bills; couple that with will, heart and conditioning and you have the best fighter in the division, all this and he's 38 years old.
A shame he's so old, would have liked having him as champ for a while.
I've said for years that this talk about how nobody Usyks size can be heavyweight champ is rot, and I've been proven right.
It's plenty big enough, if you use it right.
Of the two, Usyk looked the bigger puncher in there, and Fury's size didn't really confer enough advantage.

Hed argue usyk is huge, since he was 230 for the weigh in therefore bigger is still better

Ok, let’s get this straight, what was Usyk’s weigh in weight?
When I watched I could have sworn it was 233.5. I even played it back and thought was what they announced. What was it officially?

Thank you for the clarification. Good to know I am not quite that deaf, yet.

Agreed, I wish he'd gone upto HW earlier than he did.

terrible shame EO isn't here to remind us that boxing is own by size and that predicting the smaller heavyweight over a much bigger one is pure madness
What happened to him?

He's vanished, just like the Wilt Chamberlain guy, whose name I cannot remember.
Ironically he vanished around about the time Ruiz Jr smoked Joshua, after declaring that Joshua was GOAT heavyweight because he's taller and bigger than most past champions.
I'd love to know EO's take on Fury's defeat to a man who is 'only' 6' 3" and about 220 - 230.

That would explain a lot. He knew that he'd get utterly mocked by all of us , so he quit posting. But still, AJ avenged his loss vs Andy. Maybe those two losses of AJ against Usyk, made EO rethink carefully his comeback on this forum?
