I dont think Khan can beat him, although the scores were relatively close in the olympic final - 30-22 I think - Kindelan always looked like he had another gear if needed.
Cant really see how Khan has developed that much since the olympics, he's barely fought - 2 fights isnt it? The only thing that seems to have developed is his ego!!

Yep, Kindelan looked like he was fighting well and truly withiin himself. He virtually took the 1st round off and still won at a canter. It's a good point about Khan not having fought too.

Don't think he's trying to even the score, its just the revenge angle will put bums on seats. And if he does lose? Well its like Stu said, his stock will go down, and then allegedly won't have to offer him as much to sign on with SN.

I disagree mate. They have to find a credible opponent from somewhere and if he had to fight one of the British lads and lost (not out of the question) then he would be really affected.
Kindelan will be built up to be the unbeatable (no) legend (yes) he is so if Khan loses honourably it won't affect his stock that much.
And don't be surprised if it doesn't happen at all against Kindelan.

I agree, losing to Kindelan is no big deal, it's like Hatton losing to Tszyu, a no-risk situation, as everyone expects the opponent to win.

There's the risk that Khan or Hatton could get cold cocked inside a minute of course...looks bad on the CV

Maybe Hatton...can't see that happening to Khan who should show Kindelan the respect that was lacking in the early rounds of the ABAs.

Yes on Hatton, not so much on this one. You know it was all hyped how the scores in match 2 was closer than match 1. Also, how Khan looked to have adapted in the end. Whilst we (the boxing anaroks) can say Khan hasn't developed cause he has only had 3 fights since. The general public will believe the 17 year old kid is now a 19 year old man and Kindelan I don't think has fought at all since the Olympics.
What weight will this fight be, Khan is looking pretty big at Light Welter.
I agree with Ian's point and a British fighter my response to that is...... why have this fight in the first place. Khan is blomming loaded (or soon will be). Why not donate a million (more than what this fight will generate) to his old boxing club. It will probably hold him in better stead with the public if it was a highly public donation.

He soon will be loaded but he doesn't want to be giving it away before he's even got it! Boxing 5x2s is a bit less painful! Plus, it should give some of his stablemates a unique chance for a bit of limelight - a once in a lifetime thing.

Khan has lost twice already, winning against him now wouldnt make him the best, maybe it would for 5 mins in the press or in his camp!
Kindelan has not lost since 1999 even if he lost this one bout he still deserves to be number 1. So whats the point Khan has to box Kindelan 3 more times and win them all to say he is better.
At the moment its 2-0 soon it will be 3-0, apart from the great acheviment of the silver medal Khan hasn't even beaten the best in the UK!
One fight dosent make you great, many underdogs have beaten the champs, only to be smashed on the return bout!
Great news of it being on ITV.They were the days of Naz, Eubank, Benn ect And it was free Yay!

Agree with that ABA Boxing.
It makes me laugh that Khan is supposed to be evening the score, how's that happen then when he's already been beaten convincingly TWICE?
I totally go along with the view that this is a low risk bout and there would be no dent to his credibility as a pro if he loses again to the number one.

You don't think he has already got a fair amount of cash then from various sponsorship deals. Joe Bugner said Audley will be a millionaire befoe he stepped into the pro-ring. Audley was asked about this and never denied it.
Anyway, didn't the ABA give Khan the first installment of the 70,000 a year to keep him amateur!
5 x 2 is less painful than a pro fight, but what is even less pain full is giving the club a cheque without even lacing up the gloves.
I can see your point about his clubmates getting some limelight - how many of these will get televised or even mentioned in the press before or after the fight. None (excluding BBN of course).

It has been said on a few occassions that Kindelan is one of the best pound for pound boxers in the World.
There is no doubt if he had gone Pro he would have been a world champion.
Im looking forward to the fight, but its a bridge to far for Khan!

Unless the Cuban gets very old overnight I have to agree. However you have to give Khan respect for taking the fight.

Amir Khan's amateur farewell against Cuban legend Mario Kindelan will not take place as scheduled on 30 April.
That date was announced last week by boxing promoter allegedly, with whom Khan is expected to turn professional.
But Cuban team chief Angel Iglesias Guerra said that Kindelan's Friday bout with Frankie Gavin in Liverpool made an April date logistically "impossible".
Guerra did add that his fighter would still like to fight Khan in May or June before retiring from the sport.
"If Mario did get the chance to fight Amir Khan again it would be his chance to retire in style," he said.
"We hope it could happen in May or June as part of a more comprehensive bill involving other members of the team."
Warren admitted on Wednesday that he was disappointed by the news, but said he was be prepared to be flexible.
"May would be the perfect month for us to do the fight and I have no problems with moving the date back," he said.
"It is great to hear that Mario wants the fight because it is the biggest amateur fight and we will make it happen."

Thats very unlike Allegedly announcing fights before they've been agreed.
What a pudendum.
