Very interesting indeed. ITV getting involved, it had been presumed that the BBC would be covering this, curiouser and curiouser.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that Brian Barwick, the man who initially made the decision to pull the plug on boxing has now left for his fatcat job at the FA?

Have britishboxing.net got someone at the press conference?

Yes, Statto Taylor is there. Texted me an hour and a half ago saying the press conference was delayed - lots of national media there.

Warren really putting the ball in skys court when his contract is up for renewal this year..... Sky have now seen he can work with ITV so he has far more leverage in negotiations...

good thing is i dont think ITV would put up with the shit sky and SN currently feed us... so if Frank does go to ITV it could work out nicely

Hmm, do they have the money though. I recall that the reason that Warren parted company was the excessive demands and the piss poor money ITV were offering towards the end. Sports Network went to Sky because they saw more opportunity, and more money on the table, which is perfectly understandable.

Some of the figures I heard were being offered by ITV for the Naz fights were astonishingly poor.

Are Sky going to plump up big cash though, there are very few star names about now. When Warren went to Sky from Sky he had loads of star names.

Yes, that's a point. However, Khan has the potential to be as big, even bigger maybe than Naz, if everything pans out.

He has began his career on terrestrial TV, and maybe Sports Network want to see that continue. It's bizzare though that the BBC appear to have been sidelined. I guess they didn't have any sort of contract with Khan, as an amateur is he able to sign contracts, my guess is not? What about the ABA, did they have a deal with the BBC, I guess not.

It's an unusual situation this one.

That's good news....I think. Though the Cuban fights the night before, so it's gotta be a little up in the air until that's over with.

So, Sports Notwork have their contract up for renewal with Sky end of May? Followed a few days later by 2 mega fights in Manchester - and now ITV gatecrash the party....

And why the hell does anyone want to see the biggest prospect in the UK sparked? That's a typical Brit view...build em up...etc

Who will that leave us with, Matthew Barney anyone?

Look on the bright side, we might even get to see Amer spark Kev Mitchell one day - ho ho.

He's supposed to be fighting on the 30th MW, not the 16th. Kevin just added a bit so I just went and had a look via editing...not sure if that affected it.

Just opened up immediately for me.

Without wanting to rain on anybody's parade, if the ABA say they haven't had confirmation from the Cubans...that does seem to be quite an important factor. They can be quite intractable if needs be.

Typical nothing, I just think the lad has become arrogant and his antics leave a lot to be desired. Lets hope he shows more class as a pro than Mitchell.

According to the Liverpool Echo Khan and Kindelen ain't happening theres an interview with an ABA Liverpool Official in it saying the Cubans are going back to Havana on that day and Fw is talking rubbish.

So everyone buys tickets for Khan v Kindelan only for Kindelan to go back to Cuba and Khan v TBA. Could almost be the pros.... do the ABA really want to start letting allegedly promote shows and his related antics? I think its a bad idea.

Yes, I think it was 96 or 97 when they last broadcast boxing, Shea Neary I think was their last.

Yes, the music was cracking. I always liked the ITV coverage personally, though maybe I am looking at it through rose tinted spectacles.

Nah, forget the rose tinted specticales. It was the best coverage. I have a few of the bills and those are the ones I most regularly watch because the coverage is good. Sky used to do a cracking job before all this "Right, Left, Right, Left" crap.

Sky's new theme actually resembles the Prince's attempt of the pop world.

Sky's PPV's are usually good especially when they use the soundtrack to Speed.

Khan has lost twice already, winning against him now wouldnt make him the best, maybe it would for 5 mins in the press or in his camp!

Kindelan has not lost since 1999 even if he lost this one bout he still deserves to be number 1. So whats the point Khan has to box Kindelan 3 more times and win them all to say he is better.

At the moment its 2-0 soon it will be 3-0, apart from the great acheviment of the silver medal Khan hasn't even beaten the best in the UK!

One fight dosent make you great, many underdogs have beaten the champs, only to be smashed on the return bout!

Great news of it being on ITV.They were the days of Naz, Eubank, Benn ect And it was free Yay!

Good point, I think this fight is a mistake - too high profile and if he loses his stock will go down because I think more people expect him to win this time. He's the one developing, Kindelan is the one aging.
