I think he knocks out Whyte too.
Weirdly he will be back in a semi contender spot after that…

I'm surprised that Warren has agreed to do this fight. Joyce looks so shot to bits, there's a reasnable chance he labours to get rid of this guy.
That scenario doesn't exactly help the promotion for his debut DAZN show headliner.

I'm not against it because Joyce has another, serious fight lined up only 1 month later. I actually wish more guys would do this instead of just guys on the comeback trail who've suffered a lot of setbacks.

I wish Joyce would just comeback in the gym with sparring Korte instead of wasting our time with this match.
There is just no need of a proper fight like this.

How's it a waste of time? He's getting paid for this. He'd be paying to spar.
He gets a win on his record for doing this. He'd pay the guy some money for sparring.
I think Tune up fights like this should be more commonplace personally. A knockout that people see makes you more marketable than a sparring session.
I'd agree with you if all the guy was doing was fighting a guy like Korte, and then fighting some more guys like that back to back to back. But he's not. He's fighting 1 guy like that, and then fighting a serious opponent. I don't see the problem.

I get it but what about a head clash or an arm injury. Joyce has been around long enough not to risk a warm up

As it is right now Joe doesn't really have much of a legacy or all time ranking.
Is it the pathway to a belt? Arguably you could say it's a first step, yes.
Joyce at this point needs a win. Any win. When you're coming off an L to Chisora. You take whatever win you can get.

Probably the reason the fight is off is Joyce’s face-first defence leaves him open to getting a cut even against someone of Korte’s level. I think this fight as a warm up would have been a confidence builder for Joyce, he’s only won one fight in the last two and a half years…
