Must have missed his 'fight' against Itauma, that guy from Czechia on the Dublin show would be better than Whyte

Whyte's performance against Itauma was abysmal. Nobody knows if he can even stand up anymore it was that bad. I'm fact, he hasn't put in an actual good performance for 5 years. If he intends on facing someone worthwhile in the future, Joshua needs rounds not another cash grab.

That Czech guy was surely a candidate for the worst technical ability / worst physique of any boxer on a major card.

Fair play to the lad he had a right go at him but he was almost comically poor

It really is an interesting year of Heavyweight matchups so far. I figure Wilder vs Chisora will be a sloppy and entertaining mess of a fight while it lasts.

Makhmudov I think will be more trouble than he's expected for Fury, but Fury will come through.

Yoka vs Okolie...I don't particularly care.

Wardley vs Dubois has Fight of the Year potential

Usyk vs Verhoeven is a Unique one off and a First in the history of the Heavyweight Championship in a lot of ways. The locale and a Boxer vs Kickboxer crossover megafight is a first. This one is gonna be interesting. I expect more from Rico than most.

Joshua vs Whyte 2....one guy just survived a horrendous car wreck. one guy just got the sh*t kicked out of him bad enough that it seemed like he went through a car wreck. Why not? After that Joshua vs Fury for the love of God please before a f*cking bolt of Lightning blasts through Tyson Fury's head or some sh*t. Or an underdog lands a Thunderbolt punch on one of 'em...which is always a possibility.

Whyte didn't take a beating from Itauma, he just looked so shot that he fell to pieces as soon as he got hit. The Tetteh fight was the massive sign. Maybe even the Franklin fight.

It will be interesting to see which style Fury uses/is forced to use.

It sounds like he's in good shape but his last real win was Chisora back in 2022, although he did win 5 or 6 rounds against Usyk in bout 1.

Hopefully his legs are still there. If so I expect an 8-4 win for Fury

Dumbest boxing idea of the year, Whyte can barely stand up in a ring, let alone fight, he should be banned from fighting again after the last fiasco.

And the embarrassment on the sport, after he falls over again, and all those millions of paying customers there and worldwide, watching thinking what the f*ck… terrible idea

Matchroom play down talk of Anthony Joshua-Dillian Whyte 2

Matchroom Boxing has cooled any talk of a clash between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte later this year.

Speculation arose when Joshua released images of him back in training with Oleksandr Usyk and trainer Igor Golub. The heavyweight has not fought since his sixth-round finish of Jake Paul in Miami, Florida back in December. Joshua was then looking to fight again in the spring, but tragedy struck while the heavyweight was on vacation in Nigeria in the weeks following his win. Joshua was involved in a fatal car collision where two of his closest friends Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami were killed. Joshua came away from the incident with only minor physical injuries.


Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, revealed to Boxing Scene last month that Matchroom were targeting a summer return for the heavyweight, following Joshua returning to full-training. Now that that has happened rumours have started to circulate about who could be the man in the opposing corner.

Dillian Whyte has been a name gaining traction in recent weeks. Joshua and Whyte have history, with the pair first trading leather in the unpaid ranks, followed by an entertaining clash for the British heavyweight title in 2015. Joshua would brutally stop Whyte before going on to knockout Charles Martin for the IBF strap. The pair were also due to face each other in 2023, but Whyte tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in the build up and was replaced by Robert Hellenius – whom Joshua violently finished in seven rounds.

Whyte has not fought since being stopped in the first round by rising heavyweight Moses Itauma in August, and there are questions over how much Whyte has left. There are also question marks over how the tragedy in Nigeria may have affected Joshua. Despite the rumours of a bout between Joshua and Whyte, Matchroom’s Frank Smith played down speculation of a bout between the two.

"Not really. I mean, I don't believe so, [that Whyte could be next],” Smith told BS. “Anything can happen in boxing, but I don't believe so."

Smith also stated that the focus for Matchroom at the moment is to see when Joshua will be in a good enough physical and mental condition to return to the ring: “The key is getting him into a position to actually know when he's ready, rather than picking a date before we know that. That’s the focus right now.”

So, is it likely we see Joshua return this summer?

“It would be great to get him back out in the summer, but he's back in full training now, so that'll be how he gets himself back in there,” Smith said. “He's obviously been ticking over, but it's very different to what he's been doing. He's got to be right, he's got to be prepared and ready, so hopefully we get some news soon on that.”

Dillian Whyte should pack it in.
I have zero interest in him being knocked out again the first time a punch lands on him flush.

An all‑British heavyweight showdown in the United Kingdom is moving closer to reality, with promoter Eddie Hearn revealing plans are advancing for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to finally meet on home soil.

Hearn said he is "hopeful" that Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh will choose the UK as the venue for the long‑awaited clash, which is being targeted for November and billed as the biggest fight in the nation's history.

While no contract has yet been signed, Hearn confirmed that negotiations are in their final stages.

The bout would follow a July comeback fight for Joshua, setting up what Hearn described as "not the fight of the century, the fight of all‑time" for British fans.

Fury and Joshua fuelled anticipation earlier this month when they traded barbs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, reigniting excitement for a matchup that has collapsed multiple times in the past.

Hearn said the remaining contractual details are close to being resolved, after which staging decisions will fall to Alalshikh.

"We will have a contract and we haven't signed a contract yet, but we are negotiating the final points in an agreement to come back to the ring in July and (then) fight Tyson Fury," Hearn told iFL TV.

"Once we sign up for that agreement, it is over to (Turki) for the staging. We (Matchroom) will be promoting for July. I would think that the November fight or whatever it will be, will be promoted by Sela.

"Myself and AJ, Tyson Fury, we'll have a contract where (Alalshikh) is basically funding the fight. It's up to him where it is.

"Now, he also wants to make history. He is not going to put it in some random place. He wants this to deliver for the fans what it is - which is the biggest fight in the history of our country. I am hopeful that the fight takes place in the UK."

The push for a UK showdown comes after Fury and Joshua traded words at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11, reigniting speculation around a domestic clash that has repeatedly fallen through in the past.

Hearn added that Joshua's July bout is still being finalised, adding: "The good news is if we take a (warm-up) fight like this, we have signed to fight Tyson Fury and all you've got to do is bite your fingernails in July for 36 minutes or less and you've got not the fight of the century, the fight of all-time."

Fury had previously warned Joshua not to delay with a warm‑up fight - despite taking one himself against Arslanbek Makhmudov - but Hearn said the decision was influenced by the undisputed champion.

"I am sure they won't mind me saying it, a lot of this has come from Oleksandr Usyk. He was part of these conversations and the conversations were absolutely he is having a comeback fight," Hearn said.

I've been thinking about that this week. If my best mate died, I'd be devastated. If two died it would be a hell of a lot worse and if I was an eye witness, I'd never come back from that.

Boxing wise, I think it's going to go one of two ways. Either he'll be completely vacant and lose the tune-up or he'll use the trauma to galvanise his mental game.
