Dychko is pretty heavy handed over first couple of rounds, Dykes needs to keep a cool head and get boxing together, this fight will show if Dykes can compete at a higher level and the apparent lack of a punch will hinder him when faced with a live opponent.
Good luck to him.

Sprott got robbed in that one if memory serves. 25 years ago now! :o

Wish Dykes well Vs Dyko it's a tough ask
Definitely a tough ask I’m glad he’s got a good fight and win or lose does well
If he wins, hopefully open up a few doors for him.

Especially with the late notice he has had.

I’d hope he’s aspiring to more than that. Think he can get to British title level at least.

Using Sprott as an example, competitive losses on the road brought him domestic title shots

Didn’t see this one coming, Dychko at Bournemouth International Centre feels as random as Hrgovic at Doncaster.

Dychko has been a massive disappointment as a pro. Mismanaged and fought rarely. Didn’t he beat Jalolov 5 times? (Having said that Jalolov looks like he’s gonna be another top amateur but pro flop)

Yeah he beat a lot of good names in the amateurs. He wasn’t particularly old when he turned over either.

He should have got the decision vs Franklyn but didn’t look great.

I wish Dykes well he seems a top lad and works hard, if he does lose he can come again, Dychko has so much more experience from the am's and pro game he might see this as easy money and take his eye off the ball, I'm just concerned about that gulf and what happens when Dychko opens up early.

Harv has been around the block too. Maybe not internationally, but was the National Amateur Champion at super heavy.

Been in with a lot of big men - never been put down.

Whitehawk’s Harvey Dykes has stepped in to face the highly rated former Olympic medallist Ivan Dychko over ten rounds this Saturday on Sky’s big Bournemouth bill.

The opportunity comes after a lengthy period of frustration for the 30-year-old, that saw a string of opponents pull out of fights against him.

"It has been a tough time," Dykes, who is trained by the highly regarded Don Charles, explained.

‘I’ve had title fights lined up and even an exciting opportunity in Denmark, but my opponents keep pulling out.

"For that to happen after you have almost finished a training camp, and gone to all that expense, really gets you down. Sometimes you wonder what it’s all about.

"But I knew if I kept training, kept my head up, that my opportunity would come.

"Ideally I would have had more notice, but I’ve ticked over since the last fight was cancelled and been able to sharpen up in the last week.

"This is a big opportunity for me on a big show, with new promoters in the sport (the Saudi backed Zuffa Boxing). This is the break I have been looking for since turning pro."

The popular Dykes, who sells hundreds of tickets wherever he fights, was a standout amateur, winning the same National Amateur Championships as Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
Dychko also boasts outstanding pedigree, having medalled at two Olympics.

The 35-year-old Kazakh, who now fights out of America, has also stopped 14 out of 15 as a pro, but lost his last outing against Harvey’s gym mate Jermaine Franklin.

"He’s a good operator, very good,’ added Dykes. "He’s also 6ft 9in’ and has knock-out power.

"But I’m younger, fresher and he hasn’t been that active since turning pro. I think it’s all there for me. I just can’t wait now. I wish it was Saturday already."
