Tactical voting will make it difficult for her, in a nutshell she will need more votes than all of the opposition put together
I may distance myself from my previous remarks. Read more on Lula. Not a total fan. That's the problem these days, the choice is far Left or far Right.jujigatame wrote: ↑25 Oct 2026, 23:54Sadly I think Le Pen is gonna win in France. The recent rioting/looting is gonna send people running to the right. AfD seem to be gaining ground in Germany as well.
Lula is still better than the alternative. Flavio Bolsonaro is a straight up Trump fan boy just like his convicted father. He already said he contests the election results and wants them annulled just like his idol Trump did. This win was a win for democracy:Tony1244 wrote: ↑26 Oct 2026, 08:51I may distance myself from my previous remarks. Read more on Lula. Not a total fan. Bolsonaro has also heavily courted the evangelical zealots - like Trump. His whole family is suspiciousBooster McCrane wrote: ↑26 Oct 2026, 08:56Lula is still better than the alternative. Because she's like Trump, a corrupt clown whose entire sales pitch is an appeal to emotion and magical thinking. The whole world should be looking at the US as a cautionary tale right now. They can be as mean as they want to immigrants it's not going to fix their fiscal situation.Ricky wrote: ↑26 Oct 2026, 04:13
Why sadly? Her country has been absolutely sold down the river, for decades. Hopefully she can make France French again.

Trump had a similar effect in Canada - Carney was a massive underdog until Trump got involved.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑26 Oct 2026, 15:43 Trump cost the right in the Brazil the election, the left ran a simple campaign, do you want the Brazilian flag to stay green and yellow or to become stars and stripes.
Also if an incumbent is tied, the incumbent usually loses. Your state has the Dem favored to win the governorship but not the senate. Guess the Gov. candidate is more popular. Being a non Iowan I am far more interested in the senate race.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑26 Oct 2026, 19:41 If a race is considered even, the Republican virtually always wins.
Having said that, there are going to be some big changes.
the Democrats should win the house and really should won the Senate.
My home state of Iowa has been red for a while now. All 4 members of the House, both senators, the Governor are all Republicans, and the State House and Senate are dominated by Republicans.
This year, 2 of the House races could go the Democrats as well as the Senate Seat on the line and the Governor race. 2 years ago, it looked like there was maybe one House Race that looked like it could go the Democrats in 2026.
It is a like that in several places. We shall see.

Peckerhead was about to become Prime Minister until Trump started up on Canada.
