On Trinidad vs Mayorga, well Tito hadn't fought for 2 years and I don't think had fought anyone with the power reputation that Mayorga had and he had been stopped two fights before and nearly stopped on several other occasions. Lots of people thought a sharper Mayorga would have taken out Tito.
Fair enough about the scoring of the Forrest rematch, but really that wasn't the point I was making was that Forrest wasn't hurt.
Of course he landed a few times within the fight but never really any big bombs or any punches that would usually cause a knockdown or knockout. Plus I felt the judges awarded him more on his relentless aggression rather than his outlanding Spinks.
And to say Trinidad never fought anybody with the power and reputation Mayorga had is a bit OTT considering Mayorgas achievements were as a Welterweight and had only fought once at Light Middle (without a stoppage) and never at Middle. Trinidad had already proved his power at Middle when he destroyed Joppy. Credit to Trinidad for accepting a comeback against Mayorga, but that doesn't mean I expected him to lose.
Forrest may not have been hurt in the first fight but if you watch that fight again you will see he was absolutely terrified and didn't want to continue and if that fight was allowed to continue he could well have ended up getting hurt given his obvious distressed state.
