Clint Jackson from what I've seen was a very good amateur fighter. Didn't he train McCallum for a while (when Mike was a professional)?

Anymore ifo on this? Was this the fight around 74/75 when Spinks got stopped in the 1st round?
Nile4000 wrote:Emory Chapman-John Tate.
That was a brutal KO. Chapman was a tremendous puncher.

Actually, Clint did train Mike sometime after he stopped him in 1974.And the Barker fight was the one where Spinks got stopped in.

Why didn't Calzaghe fight at the 1992 Olympics? Didn't he qualify? If he beat Byrd, who won silver, he must have been really good at the moment.

Prince Naseem Hamed beaten by Michael Brittingham in 1990? Mel might know better than I, but Buddy Shaw told me that Brittingham put it on Prince as part of a JO dual between the 1990 champions. He said Hamed was crying. Any truth to that Mel?

Yea, man, DENNIS MILTON was an amateur STAR back in the days when amateur boxing was a MUCH tougher game..no comp scoring...Dennis and Frank Tate were the 1-2 at 156 pounds, both of them very experienced at the International level...
