This guy could end up a world champ, banned from fighting in America.
Could do, or could end up another Earl Hargrove.

Anyone remember him?
Yep, Earl The Pearl - clobbered by Mark Medal, then Mugabe. Or Jose The Threat Baret was another.

But Valero seems to be knocking over a higher class of fighter, inside 3 minutes too.
This latest Valero win shows he can do it to high calibre fighters. Do you think a psycological chink could unravel if he goes past round 1?

Another guy who was like that, but could really box was Jaime Garza, remember him?

I noticed him posting on here yesterday.

Yeah Garza was a terrific hitter - off the canvas to win a few times, but was levelled in a huge upset against Juan Kid Meza ( I think )

Where was he posting, on boxers of the past?

Was from Venezuela also and all his wins were from KO until he met Mike Johnson.

Word is on Valero though is that he has tons of skills and was constantly beating decent fighters down in the US gyms. Not a one dimensional slugger...

Aye, word from people in the know in the U.S. is that he could be something special. Wonder if there's any chance of getting a license for him to fight over here anytime soon? I reckon Graham Earl might be a good test for him..

Lets see wot he luks like when he's in with Pac-Man, Morales, MAB, Barrios etc etc.

Whilst on the subject i've heard that Chavez has pulled out of his fight with MAB, do you think Valero would Fight MAB as a replacement ?????

But you got to hand it to Valero, wot a record.

I read on the Current Scene that he was made to look pretty average in a sparring session with Erik Morales. Apparently Valero just goes for those huge shots to knock his opponent out, but the thinking is that he would be exposed against a slick counter puncher.

No, that's not actually true. I've seen the footage of Valero-Morales and Edwin held his own with 'El Terrible' - I know a lot of people think he even got the better of him.

The footage is available to members of the http://www.maxboxing.com website. Great site if any of you haven't seen it before, probably my favourite on the web. Membership is $5 per month or thereabouts and there's always great articles and training, sparring, weigh in, press conference coverage there. Would highly recommend it. :TU:

(And no, I don't work for them nor do I have any links whatsoever to them).

I think Valero's for real. He's fast and their a big thwacking noise when he lands. The two fights I seen of him he hurt the guys with normal thrown shots, then when they got hurt really unloaded. Sweet ko's also...

Wonder if Kevin Mitchell fancies his chances against Valero :D

Be interesting to see who they pitch Valero in with next, maybe that Fana bloke who MAB blew away inside 2 rounds ???

Any suggestions who Valero may go for next ???

he showed great accruacy on that GIF file...
really caught the guy on the sweet spot...if that is how he fights normally he is clearly not just a "swing and see what you hit" type

Well Vicente Mosquera is the current WBA champion and the fight at the weekend was a WBA eliminator. Beaten once - on a split decision.

Valero is scheduled to fight in Japan on March 25th against a yet unnamed opponent.
