Can Valero make it 18 in a row?

Post by REAL_DEAL »

Varleo fights at the weekend against Whyber Garcia

Do you think he will make it 18 in a row this is also for the WBA Super Featherweight Title Eliminator.

I'd say no, maybe Garcia is stopped 6-10.

If it's another KO1 though, you've got to start thinking about him seriously though. Even fighting relative stiffs, an oatcake amount of 1 rd stoppages is hugely impressive.

If it's another at the weekend, and Valero gets a title shot, what are the odds Valero's american ban gets magically lifted? Care to lay it off Lirva?

Valero will win, but it'd be pretty impressive if he took him out in the first seeing as he's only been stopped once thus far (and in the ninth at that.) As others have said, you'd have to start thinking of him as a serious threat if he managed that.

I wonder if he has a second round tactic.

Good to see this is a WBA eliminator. Would be surprised to see him win again in the 1st round and I think it would be better for him if he doesn't. He needs the rounds. Another one round stoppage and he'll be fighting for the WBA title after having fought only eighteen pro rounds in his whole career, and none of them even full rounds.

Would be nice to see another KO in the 1st & would even make it more impressive with it being a title eliminator, you'd have to say Valero would make a good edition to an already exciting division if he lives up to the hype.

I was never a fan of that get the rounds in mentality. Pretty much it is your corner telling you to carry a stiff past where he'd normally be stopped just so you can have a glorified sparring session. Not to mention the more the fight goes on the more unneccessary punches you take no matter how good you are. My opinion, if you want rounds under your belt pick an opponent who'll survive a few and not someone who only survives cause you're holding back.

You could probably show his whole career in a .gif file.

I'd like to see him in with Vicente Escobedo, personally. Doubt that one would last more than a round either way.

Saw a clip of him on Trans World SPort in a spot about Venezuelan sport. looked a little crude and awkward. But clearly a big puncher. I think he may get beaten here if his opponent settles in.

Thanks Chris - one of his Japanese fights I guess?

This guy could end up a world champ, banned from fighting in America.

Could do, or could end up another Earl Hargrove.

Anyone remember him?

Yep, Earl The Pearl - clobbered by Mark Medal, then Mugabe. Or Jose The Threat Baret was another.

But Valero seems to be knocking over a higher class of fighter, inside 3 minutes too.
