I use the £90 Evelerlast velcro's and also have a pair of £40 Londale pro's for bashing the bags.

Both 16oz.

Using something like 10oz for sparring will maybe injure your opponent and if your technique is crude, may injure you too if you clock an elbow.

Interestly Tony Laing (Kirklaing's brother) has been doing a bit of coaching/training on Saturday mornings lately.. remember him anyone ? good bloke.

But anyway, my advice would be to learn how to wrap your hands properly, forget the £15 nasty lonsdale's in soccer world as they have foam padding and zero wrist support and you could end your gym career before it begins if you wreck your hands/wrist by belting a heavy bag in those things.

Froch likes the Rival glove, I prefer the Everlasts. But you should be allowing at least £40+ for a reasonable pair mate.

16's for sparring to protect your sparring partner and smaller ones for bag and pad work say 10's or 12's. Leather are better and will last a lot longer than plastic. :box:

About 4oz bigger than your actual fighting gloves size,to protect sparring partners,if you go too big it effects speed, but also defence, you can get a false sense of security when you got big gloves on,that cover your whole head and body and when you put the fight gloves on you seem to feel more open to shots, goodluck.

Is it worth me using wrist weights when Im doing bag and padwork? At the mo - especially in sparring - I am finding that after a few rounds its a struggle just to keep my hands up - I keep wanting to switch to southpaw for a change or let the left drop down like Froch - and to be honest I want to do neither really. Whats the best way to solve this?
