A shock to you, maybe. Almost everyone on here is expecting Froch to win this fight, and by KO, but i doubt very many will be 'shocked' if Magee is victorious! If they are, then i would seriously have to question there judgement.
If Magee gets spanked, you are going to have a considerable portion of humble pie to get through.
Yep that LARGE pie is being freshly baked next week, with only the finest ingredients, including some free range HUMBLE, in order to serve up to ALI on Sunday morning for breakfast.
Froch will pulverize Magee

I hope you are wrong. I will be there with the Irish contingent cheering on Brian. Would be fantastic to see Froch beaten.

If Magee boxes clever and doesn't leave his chin out to get tagged then he could win this one on points, but it all depends on how much Froch can raise his game on the night. I get the feeling he's the kind of fighter who performs to the level of his opposition to some degree, and that's why I think he'll probably end up winning, but it's only about 60-40 in his favour.

The only way I can see Magee winning this one is by forcing the fight at a higher pace from the off and then sustaining it, because Froch likes a bit of time and space to land the rangier punches. But Magee's not fresh or young enough to turn on a boxing display like that and when Froch's punches start to land it will soon be over (I won't be betting
![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
).
Froch shouldn't be written off or 'graded' yet just because nobody likes him. Froch in 7. Will be there, good match.

Froch by KO and early in the fight. Hopefuly he will go for a european shot next if he can get Tsypko out of germany or if Tsypko vacates and he gets a shot for the vacant title.
Kessler has Tsypko lined up next, so win or lose the EBU title should be vacant. Although at 28 Froch should be looking for a World title rather than European.

I think Magee's got some underrated power. He pretty accurate and that counts for a lot. I just wish Magee had the nuts to stand in and fire off combo's. He's really good when he does that. He keeps on reverting to this hit and hold style though when he fears an opponents punch, it does him no favours. If Magee's brave and doesn't fear Carl's punch (which he shouldn't) I think he'll box Froch's head off. Remember just how bad Carl's been looking lately. His style's really been found out. Not his style actually, he just doesn't have the ability to fight that style. Froch's lucky he has a good chin.

Who has outboxed him?
Fair comment i'll take that back and replace outboxed with outworked - I too thought this was a mismatch in Frochs favour, but Froch has been outworked in a good 2-3 fights. His last fight against an out of shape Westerman was very poor, and he again allowed himself to be outworked. To be fair he has come through those encounters and prevailed, but they have definitely left question marks.
With Magee's dodgey whiskers (although he has never been stopped) we could very well see Froch walk out and hammer him in a couple of rounds or for that matter at any point.
We'll find out soon enough, but I do think Magee's boxing skills are being overlooked due to his knockdowns against Reid.
I like Froch, he has a very relaxed style, but by god he is frustating to watch :)

I think Froch will be switched on for this fight... I wouldn't be surprised to see him end it in 2 or 3 rounds....

This is the worst prediction yet.. what are you basing this assumption on? just out of interest is it the fact that magee has never been knocked out or that a ring rusty aussie journeyman gave froch all he could handle before running out of petrol.

Just a feeling I've got... remember Reid, a very slow worn out Reid, had Magee down early... Froch is a good finisher and if he gets Magee hurt he will stop him... I've also noticed that when Magee gets hurt he takes an age to recover. Ok he hasn't been stopped yet but aside from Reid who has he fought?. I think Froch is much better than he's seemed to be in recent fights, he just needs a challenge to really be sharp.... if I'm wrong though I'll hold my hands up and admit it, but Froch by KO...
Basically if Froch can't beat Magee convincingly then he's not going anywhere....

Oh right so reid was past it when they fought and slow...ok if thats the way you want to remember it to try and justify your opinion then thats up to you. If it takes magee an dage to recover when he is hurt then why couldnt reid take him out as he had him hurt at least four times?
Apart from reid he has fought Tyspko who at the time was the euro champ.. who has froch fought that is even remotely close to these two guys? dale westerman....i hardly think so.
Froch is a poor mans naseem hamed without the agility or comparative power he is to interested in looking good against limited opponents and running his mouth.
I firmly believe that magee is more than able to do a job on froch but as you have yourself said if im wrong i will hold my hands up.

The reason why Reid didn't stop Magee was that he could only throw a few punches at a time before needing a rest... are you seriously saying that Reid was at anything approching his peak in that fight?.... he looked as close to shot as a fighter can be and still won by 'oldmanning' Magee out of it. If Magee couldn't beat an old Reid I can't see him beating Froch who is younger, faster, and hits harder and will be throwing far more punches than Reid did...

Froch is younger yes but as to throwing more punches and hitting harder i dont think so he throws single shots and then stands back to admire his work.
I didnt say reid was at his peak but he was still a legitimate test for anybody a few years back and magee got punished for either underpreparing or underestimating him.

Froch will be throwing far more punches than Reid did is what I mean... and he puts his weight behind each punch. I agree that he fights in the wrong style and if he doesn't tighten his defense he'll get chinned by a big puncher... he'd be a far better fighter if he adopted an orthadox style, (same can be said for Khan)...but Magee hasn't the power to trouble Froch and I don't think he has the chin to take Carls big punches... but we'll see...

Oh dear, its that mongrel dog again!... if you weren't named after one of my favourite fighters I'd have to send you to the kennels.
See you already have your get out clause, 'if he does win' ...stop sitting on the fence, will he win or not?... one or the other!.... have the courage of your convictions.... as for Froch setting the world on fire I've never mentioned that but a good win over Magee is a step in the right direction... If Froch only wins on points or it is a struggle then I myself will not be impressed... I'm looking for Froch to win by ko in order to impress and a ko win would be a good performance...

Magee defenately has the power to trouble Froch. If he pops a lunging, open Froch a few times, I think Froch will be shaken up. Magee should be euro champ remember, well imo, Tyspko got a gift.

I have been thinking about this (careful) and I think some are underestimating Magee, take away the Reid fight and his chin holds up pretty well. Everyone is entitled to one bad day at the office!
And people are overrating Froch. The truth lies somewhere inbetween and while I agree Froch starts favourite I believe its a closer matchup than most people are making out. I think its a long fight and can well see Magee outboxing the defenceless Froch at times. My pick would have to be Froch on a close decision but wont be surprised if Magee pips him here.

I'm telling you, ugly fight, and Froch wins a close, possibly controversial decision. Probably by virtue of scoring a knockdown or 2.

Hmmm!... indeed, they must be there somewhere though I 'll be blowed if I can see them!... regarding Magees chin, I've seen him shaken numerous times by punches... basically anytime he has taken a decent solid shot... I really can't see Magee hurting Froch... Magees only chance is to try and outbox Carl... if he slugs with him it'll be a short night...
