Yeah this fight will answer a lot of different questions to what Danny posed.

As has been mentioned Sprott was on the wrong end of a dodgy decision against Virchis and also I believe back to back KO wins over Williams and Sprott will put Audley in the madatory challlenger position for the European title.

If Skelton's injury turns out to be worse than we think or his domestic problems prove the same then it gives that option of taking the European title fight and getting into the rankings that way.

On paper this is an acceptable fight, but for someone with such a big mouth as Audely its a bit of a joke... he wants to be accepted as a future champ yet is still fighting journeymen domestic opposition.... and this from a man who would be undisputed champion by next year!!!
the only 'world' title Fraudly will be fighting for in the near future is probably a vacant WBU bauble with Skelton in the other corner probably... :box:
Its a stepping stone fight (providing he wins) against a good European level operator, whilst waiting for Skelton to recover from his hand injury. What was you expecting Audleys next fight to be??

I get the impression that no matter what Audley does you will criticise, if I remember correctly it was yourself who couldn't find a decent word to say about Audley after he beat Williams
I may have found some praise for him had he not behaved like a total arse in his post fight interview... the truth is that I came away from that fight liking him less than ever and thinking that much of the criticism of him in the past is deserved... the man is arrogant with little charm and no sense of humour and a laughably distorted view of his own importance... its 2007 and he's still boasting about his Olimpic Games win!!! says it all really!...    8)

Don't think Audley has proved anything beating an ill conditioned Danny Williams...I wouldn't be suprised at all if Sprott beat him...and I hope he does...

Williams fought once for the European title and got battered in six one sided rounds. Enough said.

rubbish match up what a waste of time, fraudley against a well past his best sprott who lets be honest was never up to much in his prime.why is audley wasting time if he is world class in his own opionion fight someone who can at least fight.if you pay to watch this you want your head tested.

This fight should of taken place at least by 2004 when he was playing around with "Pretend WBF World Titles" , Audleys been a pro from 2001, said he would be British Champion in 5 fights and here we are in 2007 and he's fighting Sprott :o no harm against Sprott, but it hardley exciting in term's of Audley being the "Real Deal" now.

At the very least, Audley should of fought Skelton and the winner between them fighting in the world level, with Skelton not on offer a top 15 Heavyweight, at 35 wanting to become the Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion, he does not even have time to mess around at European level long, but go for broke. If he can't produce the tools like he did against Quinn, he's simply not good enough to be a World Heavyweight Champion, but if he does not advance fast, I can't see it ever happening.

Stated British Champion "5 fights" - 24 fights and near 6 years later, Michael Sprott :o

As ever, Michael Sprott doesnt get the respect he deserves from some quarters.

A few boys have said it on here, but he clearly beat Virchis. He would batter Harrison. I also think that the man-that-will-beat Valuev, Ruslan Chagaev, would murder him too.

OK, he was too much for Sprotty, but lets not get carried away with Harrions last win. Williams was all over the shop.

I think Audley starts off slowly and gets outpointed, and finally stopped when he opens up, by Sprott.

Sprott gets respect for being a good honest pro who has done some hard yards in Europe, but I've seen enough of him to know he's a class below Matt Skelton and a focused Danny Williams.
Audley/Sprott is an easy, cheap fight for SN to make. It helps Audley's stated ambition of securing a world title fight not at all and is certainly a long way from the Skelton/Audley match-up in terms of significance.

He would get more glory for beating up roman greenburg a bloke who according to reports on this board has been KOed by Sprott in Sparing. This is a good making time fight although not perfect the more consecutive wins he gets the more he can shout about a title shot.

Stop bitching he is a British HW who is hard to fight (through being enormouse fast and a southpaw) and he is around at a time when the devision is bobins if he gets a shot against at least two of the title holders he should do okay.

Don't kid yourself, Harrison wouldn't beat any of the current title holders. What exactly has he done to suggest that???

Sprotty holds wins over Cengiz Koc and Rene Dettweiler recently on away turf. He was robbed blind by slow paced fraud Vladimir Virchis and gave Paulo Vidoz a fair fight going down on points.

I am not about to forget the dire, timid Audley we have seen so many times in the past all that quickly. Sprott is active, live and throws shots for 12 rounds. Harrison may have looked good bashing a bloated punchbag last time out but once this passes the half way stage i see only one winner and that's Michael Sprott!

chagaev beats valuev? he looked shit against ruiz imho.

I never saw sprott fight, but everyone reckons audley will do him. every boxer talks about being world champ or a great champ, DW did, but we dislike certain people when they talk about it (might have something to do with the first Harrison-Williams fight eh Audley?).

He should shut up and prove himself, Sprott, Skelton, Virchis, then a HW contender or up and comer(Mcline?, Chagaev? Arreola?).

THEN start talking about your plans, cos right now, you aint fought nobody and you aint beat nobody, an out of shape Danny Williams does not change the fact that Audley is a technically skilled boxer with no arsehole.

But then beat Skelton, who Sprott quit against in 12 dull but one sided rounds. He also beat Sprott 2-1 in their series and most observes think it should be 3-0.

Yet it is Sprott who is European class?

Samil Sam would batter Vilches also.

I think it's reasonable to say that 'european class' means less now than it did even a few years ago, which is saying something. Samil Sam got a shot over in America when he looked like he could be a contender, and promptly got himself beaten up by Juan Carlos Gomez, if I remember rightly, on the same night Mesi was hammering Williamson in a round.

The future of the heavyweight division may well be European. But right now none of those Europeans are British. I do think Sprott is a good fight for Harrison, but it's not that good. Sprott has prospered in a mediocre european scene. Audley would have been well-served by not fornicating around promoting himself.

i think audley realises that now after he has wasted about 4 years that he could ill afford to waste.

you cannot order the tea, pour it, serve it and drink it then comment on it. its horses for courses, let managers manage etc...

Problem is though Rhino, has he picked a particularly great manager for his needs.

Undoubtedly Warren is the main man in the UK. But as Harrison famously once said "its all about the world baby". So many false promises of Valuev then Maskaev and now Briggs for Williams and Skelton... Can Warren deliever the Heavyweights.

My answer is no. I am sure Don King would have talked to an ex Olympian like Harrison (even after the Williams defeat) - Thats the guy he needs to talk to if he wants to become champion.

Warren will get him, Sprott, Skelton, Williams - then Sprott, Skelton and Williams.
I saw one of Sprott's German adventures on Eurosport, I forget against who. He won the fight, but lost it on points as it was Germany.
you would think they would do something about it now everyone has cottoned on, or the boxing fraternity should just not fight there, its not as if germans have a problem fighting abroad!!!!

We are getting ahead of ourselves here, Harrison is nowhere near ready for world class fighters so being with Warren right now could be the right thing for him. I'll be amazed if he beats Sprott and then Skelton.

At Alledgelly 35 - Harrison been a bit coy about his age in the past. I don't think he has the time to be joining this "one more fight then a world title" brigade.

I agree with your opinion on his chances, I think he will beat Sprott well but lose to Skelton. I'd give him some hope vs Briggs but that is just about it at world title level. However, he has at an age where he now either has to get his chance sooner rather than later - if he wants it.

Same with Skelton though. Its now or never for both.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I've heard that one before!!!!

To be fair, Sprott is about right.

It's taken him almost 7 years to beat an opponent the calibre of Danny Williams, so we wouldn't want him to rush things now!

He needs to beat the likes of Sprott & Skelton to claim he is best of British, then he can take on the world (according to himself & his new jockstrap carriers at ITV)!

The best possible result is for Sprott to win. That way we put an end to A-Force & his trash talk for ever. How the press think the win over Williams suddenly make him a world class operator is beyond me :o

Either Harrison has a short memory or he belives is own hype, if anyone realy belives that he could go on to be a World Champ, does that mean if Sprott beats Harrison that he to could be the next World Champion?

The win does nothing much for Sprott this late in his life, except maybe fill his head with the same silly thoughts that Harrison has had.

I think we have to wait a few years before we talk of heavyweight champion prospects, rather than try and salvage something from the top few we have to offer at the moment.

If Harrison really thinks he is back on track now and his mind etc. is in the right place (yeah right) why not look to rematch Guinn and avenge that defeat? I think thats the way forward when and IF he beats Sprott and Skelton.

Much as I dislike King, he is the ringmaster at HW in America. Warren has too much of a domestic tie with ITV, where he's able to command good money in return for 'top of the bill' action. Fighters seem to like it because they get full attention - with Jim Rosenthal's praise, while competing against less than lethal opposition.

The contrast with Don King would be appearing on an undercard, for somewhat less green, and taking on a half-dangerous boxer. Very possibly an opponent the masses haven't heard of too. It's necessary to put yourself in the line of fire to move forward on the world scene; keep winning, keep moving up. Frank will have you going in circles until you're old or shot. But it's okay - cause the British public kind of know your name.
