Good for him that he gets to fight in Vegas, I don't think anyone would begrudge him that, but the match is not one to set the pulses racing is it.
In fact the whole IBF light heavy scenario has been very dull over the last couple of years.
it looks like glen johnson is being given another eliminator as well.
bloody ridiculous.
dredging up all these old names.
he'll have had a rematch on every defence at this rate.
rico hoye will probably be the opponent for johnson knowing them.

They have been. But after the last round of attempts (with the 3,5 million $ offer in Denmark and calling for Warren repeatedly to make a counter-offer - to no avail), they've also said they would not sit around waiting for a guy who had no intention of ever showing.

Lets be honest Woods has had plenty of slack from the IBF himself regards title shots and eliminators he has not always earned.

Bit of a cheek that ITV refer to Clinton's "world" (in quotes) title in their article. Bet they didn't do that when talking about M'Baye's defences, not to mention the WBUllshit glut they have to write up on.

Another genius IBF move... David Tua loses all 12 rds v Lennox Lewis in 2000, so in his very next fight he's matched in an Official Eliminator with Danell Nicholson.

why we have to watch this fight again is beyond me,
julio has done nothing to deserve another shot,
i was hoping for Harding or Tarver, or even Briggs,
but i guess Hobson and Woods arnt to blame,
its the IBF and there bogus eliminators and mandotorys!

it is repetitive and silly. However, it's a decent filler for Hatton-Castillo. Will be good to see Clinton in America again. A dominant win (again) over Gonzalez might impress some of the sceptical US viewers and create some sort of demand for a big fight.
Who knows, if he impresses on HBO, maybe THEY call for Calzaghe-Woods making it easier...
After his last fight & layoff Clinton deserves a break from Johnson. I'd rather see Clinton fight Johnson 4 in Sheffield. IMO on a Hobson local promotion a fully fit Clinton can beat Glencafe with something to spare this time to silence the doubters.

Why were you hoping for harding? last time we saw him was when he got his ass handed to him by dawson in his first fight at the weight...Tarver was just beaten by a former middleweight after registering single digit punch stats per round over 12...Briggs is likely fighting dawson next...I agree its nice to see new faces and gonzalez-johnson should never have been an eliminator but I think woods and gonzalez will be ok for the occasion, Clinton won't have the title for too long - I don't mind him fighting guys of that calibre, they're still a level above tocker pudwill or kid fire mc intyre...

but its his Vegas debut, let him enjoy it,

I agree its pointless, but anything short of Dawson and Hopkins has to be considered on its merits. Its nice exposure for Woods, I doubt he will win that easily because he is not that good...I never got around to seeing the first one though, was it entertaining?

its wasnt a snooze by no means,
they traded to an extent, but woods controlled it
with his jab, and Gonzalez had very few answers,
i had woods winning by about 5 rounds.
