EDIT: hold on - the boxrec schedule has Gonzalez-Johnson down for an IBF eliminator (thank God) in May. Please let this be the case, and have Clinton fight a mandatoey in June. It would make sense to fight an American in the US too - despite obviously losing to Dawson, Harding may be a possibility. Griffin, Ajamu Tarver...

This fight will be met with a high amount of negativity - How many more times are we going to see Clinton climbing through the ropes to tackle an old adversary?

Good for him that he gets to fight in Vegas, I don't think anyone would begrudge him that, but the match is not one to set the pulses racing is it.

In fact the whole IBF light heavy scenario has been very dull over the last couple of years.

Woods would be better off with Warren,

It is too bad that his arm was messed up and he couldn't fight Kessler in January - it was on the cards for Denmark or Sheffield - but at least he gets the chance to fight on HBO.

Why would Kessler of wanted to move up In weight after only just adding the WBC to his WBA?

Not much point to this. Woods is getting on abit now and fights like this won't help solidify himself as a top 3 LHW.

Hopkins, Dawson, Erdei, Tarver, Adamek, Briggs

How long till we see Woods in with one of those?

They have been. But after the last round of attempts (with the 3,5 million $ offer in Denmark and calling for Warren repeatedly to make a counter-offer - to no avail), they've also said they would not sit around waiting for a guy who had no intention of ever showing.

Basicly they feel they've done as much towards making a fight possible as the're willing to do initially, and got absolutely no indication of any interest from Warren. So if Warren starts seeing it differently, he knows where to find them. But 'till then the fight is dead.

I absolutely agree there's no point in setting Kessler's carreer on hold waiting and hoping for Calzaghe to do something he by every indication just won't do.

Woods is good, but as if he could stop, let alone beat, Kessler. Kessler's in a slghtly different league.

The Dane doesn't need Calzaghe. If he beats Andrade I'm afraid that makes Kessler the clear #1 at super middle.

Ironic thing is, Calzaghe only performs when he fights world class opponents. However, he doesn't want to fight world beaters, so he is conceding #1 spot.

Max, Woods has been unlucky with injuries of late that are keeping him out of fights, what would Warren have done with him? 4 title shots, 3 at home, slot on a massive Vegas bill and a chance for more exposure to help him get a fight against a Dawson etc. i'm sure Woods is hardly displeased with his career, shame you can't say the same for Lockett, Arthur and quite a few other SN fighters.[/i]

Well Warren got him his highest payday fighting In Bolton. He doesn't have Hatton no more to fall In love over like Hobson Is too.

What about Lockett and Arthur? Arthur says he has a good relationship with Frank anyway.

Oh christ how many times do we have to watch Woods fight these same guys? Why not Adrian Diaconu, Antonio Tarver, Montell Griffin, or Paul Briggs for his US debut? All ranked in the IBF top 10, all interesting.
