ideally Mayweather, but i can't see Floyd taking the fight before Hatton has another big scalp to his name.wiganboxer wrote:If Britains no1 fighter Ricky Hitman Hatton does a job on Castillo what do u think should be is next move with Mayweather more then likely out the frame id like to hear your comments thanks.
Perhaps Cotto?

If Cotto showed that he was simply not going to move back down for the fight, i think Hatton would agree to move up or maybe agree to a catchweight. i think he's pretty flexible if u mention the C(otto) word or the M(ayweather) wordScooby Doo wrote:I think Cotto will be high on the list. But I am curious at what weight that fight would be made. Cotto does not make Light Welter easily.

leonard ellerbe acting all high and mighty and completely ruling out the possibility of a hatton-mayweather fight.mattym wrote:no?! what was on the radio?!?!hitman_hatton1 wrote:did u listen to the radio last night.mattym wrote:ideally Mayweather, but i can't see Floyd taking the fight before Hatton has another big scalp to his name.

i threw a f*cking party into the early hours after hearing that.
I can't see Hatton fighting a genuine welterweight but i'm sure if one of the big fights come up like Cotto I can see a match being made.
If someone like Corrales(RIP) was about he would fight him too.
As for a genuine, no name welterweight a la Collazo, forget about it, I don't think he would take on Margarito either.
Most of the top fighters around the weight, Castillo, Mayweather, Gatti, Cotto, Judah even De La Hoya have come from the lighter divisions and i'm sure these super matches could be made at any weight.

Why was Ellerbe saying the fight would never ever be made? What a bellend.hitman_hatton1 wrote:leonard ellerbe acting all high and mighty and completely ruling out the possibility of a hatton-mayweather fight.mattym wrote:no?! what was on the radio?!?!hitman_hatton1 wrote: did u listen to the radio last night.

The only fight of note left at light welter would be Witter, unless maybe Diaz or one of the better lightweights moves up. I can't see any of them bringing big money to the table though. Witter really needs to win and look good against Harris too, because his last couple of fights have been snoozers against fairly poor opposition.
Aside from that, his best option would be to move up to welter and maybe take on Cotto or Margarito (providing he beats Williams.)
