Hattons next move should be?

If Britains no1 fighter Ricky Hitman Hatton does a job on Castillo what do u think should be is next move with Mayweather more then likely out the frame id like to hear your comments thanks.

I can't see the mayweather fight being made but he neds a big fight, someone like Cotto would be ideal.

Whatever it is it HAS to be at 140. The Collazo fight mad it abundantly clear he cannot cut it at a higher weight.

He should fight Witter if he does get past Castillo (which I sincerely doubt he'll manage) as there isn't much else for him at the weight, but I fear he'll opt for some leeser name on the edges of the top 20.

If he was supremely confident in beating Witter he'd take him on just to prove a point. But he isn't. Even though Junior is a shadow of the fighter he was 2-3 years ago.

mayweather - best available opponent.

cotto - if he beats judah of course.

mosley - arguably best welter if floyd stays retired.

witter - if he beats harris.

anything else would be disappointing.

i think malignaggi will beat n'dou and is a big name in new york.

i wouldn't rule out a madison sq garden november fight with him.

hate to say it, but ricky was a bit exposed against collazo. fight was probably a draw and eh couldn't defend himself when collazo threw punches.

Yeah what's going on with the Witter v Harris fight? Didn't Hennessey win purse bids months ago? If Witter can beat Harris and look good, he should be next in line no question. If he beats him and it's dull again it gives the Hatton's more excuses.

Cotto v Hatton is the one i've wanted for years. Yep Hatton could well lose but isn't that what sport is all about?

Ricky isnt linear enough to fight at 147 against big welters.
He takes too many getting inside.

If we assume Ricky stays at LWW, then Witter is the most obvious candidate. Yes, Malignaggi would be OK, too, but despite being a box office draw, I don't think he's done any more than Witter, even if he does beat Ndou (which Witter did two years ago).

Obviously Cotto and Mayweather would be better/bigger fights, but I don't think Hatton will go back to 147. Therefore, let's settle things with Witter once and for all, and not before time.

They have a chance of fighting Mayweather because Mayweathers supposedly fighting in November. If Mayweather can't get Delahoya or Trinidad Hatton is maybe the enxt biggest name alongside Mosley

Cotto is supposed to fight Margarito if he gets past Judah and he may not get past either of those.

Mosley is probably free but no way Team Hatton go for that 1 even if he is in their prefered age range

Which leaves the Witter-Harris winner, Ndou-Mallignagi winner and Tores, I see them being critical and serving up 1 of the last 2 names, which will be a synical and boring choice.

Mayweather will most likely wait for a rematch with Oscar which will probably happen and Cotto is gonna fight Margarito if he beats Williams. Hatton is not gonna be fighting Mayweather or Cotto, he's missed the boat (on purpose).

Yes, sadly I think you're right. Mayweather will fight Oscar again and then promptly retire unless he fancies going for another belt at middleweight against Taylor.

Cotto won't be coming back down in weight, Mosley would be too big an ask I think at 147, and that doesn't really leave much.

As said earlier, Hatton will hope Witter gets done by Harris, so he can take on Harris, a very winnable fight.

Providing Hatton & Witter win, I'd like to see them get it on!

However, I doubt this will be the case. Don't think we'll ever see the fight happen & that's a great shame. Whether you're a Hatton/Witter fan, all boxing fans would love this bout to take place. It would be a grudge bout. They clearly do not like each other.

Witter aside, if Hatton chooses to pursue Mayweather, Cotto, De La Hoya, then I think it's safe to say he'll have to move up to Welter. If Ricky decides he doesn't want to move up, then that effectively counts out all three fighters mentioned above.

What about Ricky Hatton vs Kendall Holt? Another fight I'd like to see Hatton take.

Although Ricky will have had a long, tough camp for Castillo, it's important that barring injuries, he doesn't have a long layoff, gaining too much weight. Even Hatton has recently admitted not having such a long break after Urango in January has he;ped him & that he feels better for it.

I hope Ricky adopts this approach for the reaminder of his career.

Anyway, Castillo will be a tough, tough fight for Ricky. If Castillo were to win, it wouldn't be a major upset in my view.

The Witter fight will not happen. Witter has to fight someone with a pulse more than 2 fights in a row. You have to ask yourself whether Witter has past his sell by date.

I agree with you, I can see it being Malignaggi. This will give Ricky a gauge for Cotto also. Although Cotto was in trouble for the weight in that fight and consequently had to move up. Hatton would only beat Cotto at LW and that'll never happen now. We all now Hatton/Cotto at welter is a no goer for Hatton though.
