Hatton is starting to get annoying - COME ON MAYWEATHER.
At the end of the day while the Hatton camp have definitely worn out the 'bloke next door' banjo over the last couple of months it still hasn't grated as much as Mayweather's pathetic act. At the end of the day all this hype is designed to get PPV buys and if it's stirring up this sort of debate with us boxing fans then I am sure it's stirring interest with the casual fans and man on the street.

come on mate what do expect him to be like at the weigh in? do you expect him to give the gettysburg address or something?Hagler2002 wrote:looking at Hatton's behavior over the last 48 hrs the whole things has finally got to him, the weigh last night was cringe worthy, he made Mayweather look like he had a bit of class and that’s hard to do.
So let the patriotic mug punters carry on backing him as it is only pushing Mayweathers price out further, I will be having a substantial bet on him when the price drifts some more throughout today.
he`s 24 hours away from fighting the best p4p fighter on the planet, 24 hours away from the biggest fight of his life (infact it could be argued the biggest fight any brit has ever been in), the build up has been relentless with trips to new york, L.A and the U.K and massive media coverage, he`s trained like an absolute bastard for months and now it`s very very close to fight time.
of course he`s going to be hyped and talk a bit of shit, who wouldnt?
I agree that the pressure seems to have got to him a bit in the last few days, he;s become uncharacteristically aggressive... sometimes it can work for you though, other times it wont. It could be that deep down he feels he's going to get beat, it reminds me a bit of how Bruno was before the 2nd Tyson fight, overly agressive.... I feel that Maywether has gained the psychological edge in the past few days by staying cool. Also I think all the things that have been said and all the support for Hatton will spur Mayweather on, this is a guy who thrives on proving people wrong and making people eat their words.Hagler2002 wrote:looking at Hatton's behavior over the last 48 hrs the whole things has finally got to him, the weigh last night was cringe worthy, he made Mayweather look like he had a bit of class and that’s hard to do.

And its worrying that Grahams been saying that Hattons worn out from all the interviews etc... hardly the prep for the biggest fight in your career....

Hatton's spitefulness doesn't rub me right. ''I'm enjoying watching Witter being poor and I'll never give him the payday so he'll always be poor because he dared to challenge me to a fight'.....
Then theres the 'I won't talk about Floyd I'll let me fists do the talking BUT Floyd's a runner I never run, Floyd's so arrogant, my fans worship me, I drink me guiness and play darts with and thats why I have 33,000 fans and Floyd only has 33, my fans worship me, Floyds acts like a f*cking 6 year old and LOOK Floyd hits like a girl and aren't I a rascal I just spat water all over my traing partner, that Floyd's so disrespectful, hey look at me make w*nker signs at the weigh in and swear in front of his kids and camera,, I'm just an average bloke, my fans worship me, Im God'

I agree, I find myself wanting to like Hatton but the 'I'm just a normal bloke' routine is rather tiresome. I find myself warming to Floyd more as a person and frankly I enjoy watching him fight more too. I think a lot of Floyds brashness is a front really, he's twigged that he can get more people watching him by playing the 'baddie'.... because the average joe doesnt appreciate the skills Mayweather has...Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Hatton's spitefulness doesn't rub me right. As for Witter, its a disgrace how Hatton has ducked him and if he retires without fighting him then it should be a huge blot on his record and is something I think he'll regret in years to come....

I have never, ever bought for a second this nice guy routine. 'They are all my mates, I have had a beer with all of them'. So what - HOW patronising. Check this quote out from the BBC site:
---- The Hitman said of his fans: "They don't just support me, they worship me. They feel like they're my mates. Half of them are my mates." ----
Jesus, talk about having tabs on yourself. Hatton plays up this image for the money. Man of the people? Those people would have loved you to have fought Junior Witter years ago mate.
Check out his actions, he is getting more up himself every day, talking in the third person.
And this stuff from Billy Graham about him being tired from media activity...... that's a direct result of Hatton and his father taking over his business affairs. Hatton wants to do every interview going because he has a share in the PPV revenues.
This is one Brit who wants the best 'boxer' to win. The techical, jawdropping, supremo that is Mayweather, not the slugging, aggressive brawler. Mayweather is honest about his business, he admits he loves money. Not our boy - he is just 'one of us'. Please.
And actually, my stance isn't unpatriotic. A boxer, one person, cannot claim to represent the 'whole' country, it is not like football where a team of the best are selected to represent us. This is one person, whom I have no time for, who's style I dont respect from another part of the country.
If Hatton wins I will be gutted. I admit it. There you go. Then everyone can continue to be conned by this nice guy personna when all he has every chased is the DOLLARS to pay for his BEER. And as for the way Matthew is riding along as well... DONT GET ME STARTED.
Bit of advice. NEVER DRINK STELLA BEFORE COMING ON BOXREC. But my opinion will be the same in the morning, I would just never have posted it!
i used to be a massive hatton fan, went to the majority of the MEN shows pre Zoo... but i just went off his personality and felt he was chasing the money
i was never a fan of his style anyway, im more of a pure boxing fan

I still can't my head around the way fighters respective style also seem to polarize support.
I don't like Hatton's style (why the fornicate not? He's a come forward Mexican style fighter and entertaining) therefore I must love Mayweathers style (and good on you, Mayweathers handspeed is truly breath-taking at times) and worship him and hate Ricky and slag off his personality.
I think cobwebcat speaks much sense, you like Floyd good on you but all this micro-analysis of everything Hatton (and his mum) have said is bordering on WWE style reasoning.

Just suppose it was you who had Hattons humble beginnings and went on to achieve what he has, and earned a fortune by doing so - Would you be any different? - We are talking a kid who has fought his way to the top having been brought up on a council housing estate - He is not like Prince Charles, born rich with advisers who have made him look as though he has done something to help young people ie The Princes Trust - He has done f*ckall except talk while others have worked hard in his name to make the twat look good - Ricky is trying his best not to change but its pretty hard given his circumstances - Half you lot would have sold out to the Germans had you been around over 60 years ago - You slag off Ricky, you slag off Calzaghe WTF does a top fighter have to do to please you - Dont go out tonight, have too many Stellas and air your unpatriotic views about Hatton or you may have to put tomorrows lunch in a blender (no teeth, know what I mean)

Hatton is the British Bulldog personified, hes like Winston Churchill leading the nation into battle, hes like Bobby Moore, Johnny Wilkinson, Bobby Robson and Martin Johnson rolled into one.
Apart from being plain wrong, supporting Mayweathyer is unpatriotic.
Come on Ricky!! Do it for England and St George!!!

Oh grow up you twat, you're just one of the sheep following the crowd!. I didnt say I disliked Hatton and if he beats Mayweather then good on him, but to deny that he's been ducking Witter is just to hide your head in the sand... and by the way unless you havent noticed Witter is a winner too and he's done it the hard way fighting for real titles not WBU bullshit belts!!!....Cobwebcat wrote:silkov wrote:I agree, I find myself wanting to like Hatton but the 'I'm just a normal bloke' routine is rather tiresome. Yeah let's pull apart one of the few winners we have in this country.
MUPPETT. You have jumped on this idiots bandwaggon and should be ashamed. Feck off.
Bollocks! I can support who I like!... I've been watching Mayweather for over ten years, if I wanted to support him over Hatton I'm going to. I dont buy into all this crap of Mayweather being the anti-Chist and Hatton some saint come to save boxing, this fight is as big as it is as much because of Mayweather as because of Hatton and people should remember that!. I'm actually not too bothered who wins, I just want to see a great fight thats decided by whose the best boxer and not by cuts or a dodgey decision!. If my unbiased attitude strikes anyone as unpatriotic then feck you!....Chambers2 wrote:Hatton is the British Bulldog personified, hes like Winston Churchill leading the nation into battle, hes like Bobby Moore, Johnny Wilkinson, Bobby Robson and Martin Johnson rolled into one.

In what way???.... do you mean by boosting Mayweather?... if so I agree, Mayweather is going to be ultra motivated after all the build up to this and the bad feeling.... Hatton would probably been better advised to be more low key in the build up.... a lot of what he and his 'fans' have said and done will have been motivating Mayweather....thejukeboxhero wrote:hattons fans will be the reason he loses this fight.

Well no shit. Who doesn't want a second dip into the pot of gold known as DLH? Saying DLH is a great champion and you would love to fight him again doesn't make you humble, it makes you a smart business man!whatashambles wrote:Plus Floyd ain't as bad as everyone makes out. Did you see the HBO replay of De La Hoya Mayweather last year? He came across as pretty humble there saying what a great champion De La Hoya was and how he'd like to fight him again.

Don't need to make excuses I'm a boxing fan and support a sweet scientist over a brawler everytime nevermind where he comes from.Cobwebcat wrote:Who gives a sh*t.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Oh and I don't think Hatton's a bad person, I just dont think hes a nicer person than Mayweather who's also a 'nice' guy when alls said and done
If you want to support PBF just do it. These excuses are pathetic.
The Ricky Hatton rhetoric nice down to earth guy routine gets on the old tits occasionally

I don't get this.
Ricky, for me, comes across as genuine, as do all of his team. I'd say the reason he promotes this bloke down the pub act is becasue its true. Would you all like him to lie. I just don;t get the negativity around it.
Here is a guy, on the verge of the biggest fight of his career, being asked to do things he clearly hasn;t done before and under the media microscope. Give the bloke a rest. He's only a man who is good at fighting. Who gives a flying fornicate if he's acting a little bit differently to normal. Its good he is, this is not a normal fight. This is legacy stuff. If Ricky wins then he is not just a superstar of british sport but a legend. His whole life depends on 36mins of fighting. Hardly suprising there is some tension in the air. Would any here handle it as well with a camera shoved in their face 24/7. I doubt it.
As far as following the $$ would anyone on here do it for free?
