14 weeks prep for mayweather.
so he's gone for a promoter's licence.
good luck to him.
let's hope he unseats allegedly allegedly off the top of british boxing one day.

I'm by no means a Hatton 'hater'. Far from it I actually think he has been an amazing ambassador for British boxing and it may be a very long time indeed before we see another Englishman scale such lofty peaks.whicker wrote:Largely, I think, due to the way he has acted since the fight, with regards to a clash with Witter.Rocky Balboa wrote:
Why is it whenever one of our own, be it sport stars, or whatever profession they may be in, we always knock them down even further once they haven't lived up to expectation?
No-one is angry with him just for losing, its all down to this attitude now that he does "want to give Witter a payday."
Its this kind of behaviour- apparantly backing away from a potential classic- that is knocking him down in peoples expectations.
Also when people cast doubts on his courage and integrity do they stop to consider that going to America and squaring off against the best boxer in the world takes at least as much ballpower as tackling a Junior Witter.
Hatton did what so many cannot. He used his talent and charisma to it's very maximum potential and rose to the top of the sport.
What he has accomplished should mark him down as no less than a sporting legend. I also don't think he can be judged too harshly for any reactionary remarks or behavior at this point in time because his entire world has been just turned upside down.
Yes, he was compensated handsomely for his KO defeat in Las Vegas but in this case I don't think money was an issue because Hatton was already a multi millionaire. In fact, I would go so far as to speculate that he would divest himself of that fortune overnight if it meant that he could perfect a winning strategy against FMJ.
My only concern about RH is that losing so badly may have permanently dented his confidence and desire.
You do not come across as a very nice person.StepinFetchit wrote:Fook of $hitboy, everybody now knows your girl is a b!tch, all he will do is talk crap about his fighters and match them with bums just like Fwank.... now find somewhere else to suck the crap out of his a$$.hitman_hatton1 wrote:since when has he done that lately. :xsteve689 wrote:That may be so but it seems obvious he is devoting too much time to out of the ring activities and only turning up 6 weeks before a fight to burn off the excess and get into shape. He is full of anger after being bottomed by Hitman Hatton1 on Doghouse Boxing.
Good luck to him although i thought he may have become a trainor.
With the experiance he has gained over the years in and out of the ring with contracts and opponents , i am sure new boxers wishing to turn pro would consider Ricky especially if he becomes part of the Golden boy promotional outfit with Ricky taking care of the UK part of it which would give fighters the option possibly of fighting in the USA.
I wonder will he be interested in approaching any of this years Olympians ie Frankie Gavin would be a good start.

Except, when he reached the top of his sport, against Mayweather, he was sadly found very very wanting. Were he to pursue the biggest challenges now- and overcome them, then we could talk about reaching the top of the sport.tony3 wrote:

Shut up, Biitch!
Hatton is fringe World Class.
but he's good world class in my opinion.
and as for £££ winning the belt.
both british and american tv had hatton winning.
those guys always score the fights fairly.
HBO even had oscar de la hoya losing one of his early fights and everyone knew he'd be a future cash cow for em.

i had collazo winning that fight by 2 points. you could also argue that the 12th round was 10-8 in collazos favour.hitman_hatton1 wrote:he might not be cream of the crop.DG. wrote:Hatton did NOT win that belt!

You would!
hatton has a personality disorder. he desperately needs to be liked or he can't function, even if he doesn't deserve to be liked or as likedSTP wrote:I agree that this guy should concentrate more on his fighting. He's yet to beat a world-class fighter in his prime... time will tell. I've seen other sides to Hatton in the last six months or so and basically just do not like this guy anymore. I see him as big-headed and pig-headed in a delusional, fake way, and I see malice inside him.

Bang on the money!Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:I would say the whole reason for Hatton getting a promoters licence is to promote his own fights and keep all of the proceeds
Audley Harrsion all over again - cheap show, cheap opponents and cheapest undercards possible so all the bucks go to him and the fifth Beatle, Matthew.
Sounds like we'll get lots of undercards like Calzaghe - Kessler then boxingchat?boxingchat wrote:Bang on the money!Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:I would say the whole reason for Hatton getting a promoters licence is to promote his own fights and keep all of the proceeds

Maybe a big distraction like Audley unless his father handles the business side. How do you reckon SN would have managed Audley out of interest Mr Chat?boxingchat wrote:Bang on the money!Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:I would say the whole reason for Hatton getting a promoters licence is to promote his own fights and keep all of the proceeds

If Ricky Hatton fights the best challenger in his division (Witter) like Calazage did with Kessler I will forgive himfatton wrote:Sounds like we'll get lots of undercards like Calzaghe - Kessler then boxingchat?boxingchat wrote:Bang on the money!Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:I would say the whole reason for Hatton getting a promoters licence is to promote his own fights and keep all of the proceeds
