Scott Harrison's nickname in the light of Audley turning pro was

Scot "The Real" Harrison wasn't it?

Herol "Bomber" Graham was somewhat unjust.

But

Slugger O'Toole to attract the Irish audience was best, and made better when he changed his name to Fidel Castro Smith.

I always thought

Roman 'Made in Hell' Karmazin was a good nickname.

Ricky 'Scared of Da Hitter' Hatton is also a good one.

I suppose the best are when they take over a persons name like Razor Ruddock, Bonecrusher Smith or Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

It's kinda odd to hear Nigel Benn now refer to the Dark Destroyer as if it's another person altogether, and not someone he liked very much

Catweazle is class.

For me the greatest ever meeting of nicknames was Ian 'Dapa' Napa vs Jason '2 Smooth' Booth.

I've always liked 'The Manassa Mauler'.

Fidel Castro Smith was his real name - his dad was an admirer of the Cuban leader.

As I understand it, the ring names of Slugger O'Toole and Paddy Reilly (for Clifton Mitchell) were thought up by Brendan Ingle at the start of their pro careers, as ways of misleading opponents into thinking they would be facing Duddy-esque face first sluggers.

One look at either fighter would tell you they aint Irish :D , and their styles were far removed from the stereotypical brawler. Once they became well known on the domestic circuit the ring names no longer served a puprose and were dropped.

I always thought that Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor was always a good one, just slightly better than Julian "The Hawk" Jackson.
