I reckon it was about 115-113 for Froch.
Pre-fight, Froch looked to be a bit nervous/tense - anyone else notice that?
Pascal looked fairly comfortable until around the 7th then got tired and let Froch get the upper hand in the second half.
IMO it was closer than the official scores.
Personally I wouldn't have complained at a draw - a rematch would be worth watching.
Good fight but they can both forget about Kessler for a year or two.

I think Pascal is alot more than just a Gate keeper though, ffs he's only 26 and Froch is 31
Would love a Re-match though at some point

as that was British FOTY for me and Top 10 international FOTY
I had it a clear win to Froch 116-112 albeit a very exciting and competitive fight. Pascal landed some beautiful shots, but Froch was much busier, always rallied back, and the big shots never affected him enough to sway a lot of close-ish rounds.
I agree Pascal is good. He had a lot of fight in him. A talented bloke with the guts to go for the WBC title in Froch's hometown.

Bute would be interesting. Froch has beaten a top Canadian, in probably the super middle fight of the year. Surely this will create interest in a Froch-Bute unification. Mick H seems to do a bit of promoting in Canada as well. Could be a natural.
If Taylor forfeits the WBC mandatory, maybe a Pascal rematch somewhere down the line, and a wait for the winner of the elim between Murat and Marcus Johnson.

I think Froch won it by 3 rounds atleast.. maybe 4. So fornicating pleased for him..but..he 'could' have fought a better fight.. should have stuck to boxing more and also moved around a bit more.. moving and jabbing when he did do it left Pascal floundering. Seemed nervous for first few rounds which is fair enough. He's gotta keep that chin lower though.....still he won and convincingly .. and we have another Brit on the up so its all good
Respct to pscal as well, he is a warrior.

I think having lapses and beating Pascal is better than looking sensational v Matthew Ellis (Enzo Mucca) and Oisin Fagan (Khan)
I know what you mean, class one second, amateurish the next. Would love to see Froch work on that jab a bit more, and use a bit more footwork to keep off those ropes.
Props to Froch, Hennessy and co for their persistence. It was worth it. If fighting for a WBC belt can produce fights like these, then belts still do have value.

Yes. His training was as necessary for his mind as his body. Whatever happens in his head during the build-up, he's a tough guy once the bell rings.
Steve Collins was the same. He looked decidedly wary on the ring walk versus Benn, but then came straight out firing.

Yeah Froch looked nervous and I was bit worried at first but what a fight. By the way I had it 117-111.

Let's just hope that Froch gets a quality opponent or two (eg. Bute, Taylor, Andrade,
Bika, maybe even Lacy) among his next 2-3 fights, and end up against Kessler.
Although I thought he struggled a bit tonight there's no future in him going the Calzaghe route of safe fights if he wants to prove himself as the true champion.

Im a Pascal fan and i had it 117-111 for Froch, however of course it was a competitive fight, yes, it was a closer fight than what the scorecard say tho because it was a competitive fight but Froch's jab really made the difference... I do not like to use 10-10 round but there could have been 1 or 2 in that fight. I also think that the fight being in the UK, the crowd reaction made it easier to give close round to Froch.
In other term, no the scorecard are not Off but they are cruel !

I thought scoring was off, but not by much. I had it 117-112, you have to remember that the judges cannot help but be influenced by the roars of the crowd. That's why judges should have to wear isolating headphones so they cannot hear the crowd.
Froch won clearly, but the scoring was a little unkind to Pascal, but Froch did boss most of the rounds, though about 4-5 of them were close and depending on how you viewed it could have gone either way. Pascal had some nice 30 second flurries near the end of rounds, but a round is 3 minutes, not 30 seconds.

For the record, I'm british but i feel that Froch just didn't prove himself tonight - Pascal was the the classier boxer til his stamina let him down, but even then Froch couldn't dominate the fight.

It's important that the judges hear the fight though, to help them know how hard punches land.

What they need is unidirectional mikes in each corner of the ring, which pick up the sounds of punches, but do not pick up the sound of the crowd.

Or they could just get rid of the crowd ! Shoot anyone that breath too hard or make any noise !

McKenzie was in typically partisan scoring mode.........
i had Pascal 4-1 up after 5......but i think he only took one of the last 7......so yeah, 115-113

I had it by 4 (same as Barry, Duke I think and one judge). Dirk had it by 6 (same as another judge). Thought the scoring was spot-on.

Cobra by 4 for me, but over in Canada would'nt have been a surprise for Pascal to get the nod.

I was there & it looked closer than the some of the score cards suggested - Froch was the definite winner, but much more closely IMO.
I'm going to watch it on telly to see if I revise my opinion.

I had him winning by 3 rounds after a good period in the second half of the fight.
Great fight...

Bottomline the right guy got the nod

Cracking fight what a chin Froch has got. Still think he'll come up short against Kessler but its gonna be fun finding out!

I gave it to Froch just - thought official scoring was harsh on Pascal, it was a very close fight imo.
But Feck me Froch needed his granite chin last night, I just cannot see Carl lasting that long as Champion, he at times is completely wide open, chin in the air, so fecking easy to hit.
