Any one else think the Froch vs Pascal scoring was way OFF

Post by exittored »

I had Froch winning 115-113 but only because he won the last few rounds

How the Judges had it 118-111, 117-110 and 116-112 i dont know

anyone else think the scoring was wrong?

I was very impressed by Jean Pascal and at 26 he'll definately be a future Champion, probably next year especially if he fight's his country man Lucien Bute :TU:

I had Froch up by one point after 12. Very close fight, in my opinion. Both guys were warriors in there and Pascal deserved a closer verdict at the conclusion. I'd love to see a rematch.

119-110 to Froch wtf???

I personally thought the British commentary was biased as hell and maybe that swayed you, i just personally go for hard clean shots and for me up to the 10th round Pascal had the better of the exchanges and his punches seemed to have more impact behind them

Froch got it by about 4 rounds for me. What a chin he's got too!

Four rounds was in the right region for me, and I'd accept 2 to 5 in favour of Froch. As you say: the others were conspicuous home scores.

Not saying it wasnt competitive, and maybe you could have drawn some rounds, but IMO Froch did the better work

I don't think Pascal is a garunteed champion.

He could end up the gate keeper for the supermiddle division

I had it 116-112 myself.

Seemed to me that there were a few very close rounds that could've gone either way buf Froch was the man winning rounds clearly.

118-110 was a bit harsh on Pascal but, I guess the judges must've scored some of those close rounds that I had for Pascal for Froch.

Don't see Pascal as a nailed-on champ though. Tough kid but too wild and I reckon Froch would put him away in a rematch.

i had it froch by 2 rounds maybe 3. the first half was even but he started to win a few of the later rounds.

i was very suprised that they had the scores that far apart.

Wider than I'd have expected. i thought most of the rounds had different things to admire - i don't "score" a fight except in an informal way, and I was enjoying this one too much to keep track. I'd have said Froch got it by 2 or 3 rounds - the two in the middle when pascal seemed discouraged and the last round making the difference.

Froch by 5 rounds seems about right to me. He pulled away in the final third of the fight. Both fighters were very tired but Froch appeared to be slightly the more fresher and sustained a marginally higher workrate.

I wasn't scoring (I prefer to just sit back and enjoy), but Froch ahead by 4/5 rounds sounds about right to me.

Froch by 2 or 3 rounds at most, closer than the cards definately. Pascal landed alot of clean shots they probably never counted.

"at most"? Some of the rounds were so close though.

I'd go with about a 4 point margin - I tend to sit back and enjoy the fight during the first viewing, and keep a running total in the back of my mind.

When Froch used his jab, Pascal didn't really know what to do, and that tied him up the crucial rounds in my opinion.

I felt the same as fluxstuff: two middle rounds and the last were clearly to Froch. But then I wasn't scoring it either. Many of the rest were exceptionally hard to call.

Not that hard to score, Froch's jab was pawing at times and he'd hit Pascal's arms.

Sounds like i had it different from most people as i had it a draw after 9 rds and than Froch winning 2 of the last 3 rounds for win

I think Pascal is alot more than just a Gate keeper though, ffs he's only 26 and Froch is 31

Would love a Re-match though at some point :TU: as that was British FOTY for me and Top 10 international FOTY

Watched in the pub and think I got pretty much everyone in the house involved - WHAT a fight!! Incredible effort by both. Pascal looks a future champ for sure: great chin & heart, in case anyone still doubting.

I thought Froch got it by a round or two, bizzare scoring.

And Froch went above and beyond the call, but by god he's not going to last long if he ships punches like that again. A couple of real warriors, great stuff :TU: :TU:
