Yeah, that's the thing — Canelo's a hard enough puncher to buy time resting, and Golovkin's a bit too old to force him to work, carrying as that does the risk of getting caught hard on the counter.

I'd say we're thinking of the same moment, when Golovkin had to step off the gas with the remaining rounds in mind, when it felt like there was a real opening for pressure had he been a few years younger. He seemed to stop himself at the right time, as he was breathing heavily straight after.

Canelo's evasiveness in concert with Golovkin's age is definitely the key for me, and I find it hard to imagine a third fight playing out much differently. Golovkin's pressure now relies on more stationary targets, or greater confidence in finding a knockdown. Canelo's too good to get stopped, but not good enough to win convincingly.

Too many even rounds.. Could you not split the rounds?
