He said he’d fight 3 times this year.

Last year was June - August - December

He’s already done June this year. August seems too close.

Schwarz ~ Seferi. Beat him quicker. So why not end of August.

He said 2 fights would be Stateside and 1 in the UK.

December is unlikely cuz Wilder is likely in Feb.

9000 in the arena to watch him knock over a stiff. Wafer thin undercard too. I think everyone will be pretty happy with that.

Looked like he had a strong support too. Fury does have fans. Brits travelled over too.

Good showing from Fury. I knew Schwarz was bringing a lot of wide punches to the table, and Fury should be able to handle him easy, but I was thinking more like a shutout or late round stoppage, he took him out pretty early though. That bit on the ropes where he made him miss a lot of shots in a row was fun. Kinda reminiscent of an Ivan Calderon fight I saw back in the day. Stoppage might've been a bit early, but seemed like he was certainly gonna be painting him all night anyway so might as well save the guy a beating I guess.

“The key to tonight was to enjoy meself,” Fury said in the ring. “I used the jab. I was slipping and sliding, hands down, switched up to southpaw, caught him with a straight left. And it was a good shot. It would’ve put anybody away. I put on an extra 12 pounds. I really, really feel it, you know? I haven’t had three years out of the ring this time. This time, I had a few months out of the ring. I’m back, the return of the Mack. The Mack is back.”

although it was a total mismatch, vs a weak opponent, i did enjoy when fury did that impression of ali ducking around punches along the ropes

Yeah, it was sorta an entertaining mismatch. The Gypsy King wasn't schooling Schwarz for long, he just came out there and destroyed him in two.

Decent run out against a guy that quit vs Gashi lol but obv Tyson is the most skilled guy in the division would love to see him vs AJ to be honest

That would be a great fight, but I'd pick Wilder or Ruiz fights for him right now.

In what sense?

The corner were throwing in the towel at the same time Bayliss stopped it. Plus guy was outboxed, beaten and bloodied and stood up taking shots with no effort to throw back.

We were underwhelmed by the opponent from the get-go and the only thing which made it feel more interesting come fight week was the emotions still felt by AJ losing in what felt like a similarly underwhelming match-up. However I thought Fury did well, performed brilliantly and did exactly what a champion should do against an overmatched opponent.

The best compliment I can give Fury is that he didn't fvck about and took care of business swiftly, fighting southpaw and confusing Schwarz with ease, he put his shots together nicely, I liked the way he drove the right hand in with more venom for the first KD, he landed a couple of softer blows then drilled the right hand in to deck Schwarz and it was obvious it wasn't gonna last much longer, Schwarz trapped in the corner shipping shots from both hands and not throwing back

Easy work and exactly as most predicted, I'm not expecting much better next time either

I really enjoyed the fight, Fury was slippery as an eel and it was nice to see him fight aggressively and get the KO.

Was a sparring session for Fury but he done it well.

I’d fancy Tom Dallas to best Schwarz :bag:

Fury looked good but Schwarz was obviously overmatched.

Given where Fury started last summer Schwarz would have been a perfectly reasonable 4th opponent on the comeback trail. The bit that throws his comeback is that he fought Wilder in this 3rd fight back!

Helenius / Wallin / Bryan / Martin type next. Maybe Kownacki at a push

Compared to the artifical casual dross that Matchroom serves up with the T-2, I mean AJ, this was another breath of fresh air - an entertainer doing his thing from the build-up, Rocky 4 ringwalk, hands down a la Ali, switching stances and then closing the show with the stoppage that a top guy should deliver to this type of opponent, then an encore with American Pie in the post fight presser, even getting crusty Bob up to sing.

I used to think Fury was a bit of a dick and although was not totally buying into the Matchroom show, I sure did lean their way bit nah, let them do the bullshite, let the real fighting men do their real thing. Matchroom is Matchroom, the rest of the sport reminds me why I got into boxing in the mid-80's and my personal favourite era as a fan 86-00ish

haha I know it sounded a bit like that mate, but honestly there is something about this version of Fury which has totally reignited what was becoming a flagging interest in the sport.

I used to watch everything going, even look on Question of Sport for boxers appearing, read every mag, check the dailies etc and then as matchroom broke through, I unsubscribed from Sky Sports and stopped watching, hardly posting on forums etc. It all just felt blurgh, repetitive crap with dishonesty and promoters talking a load of old twaddle which no one picks them up on. That still happens but Fury and Wilder was proper old school feel, like the glory 90's HW fights on sky from Vegas.

Schwarz wouldnt get past any of the top 10 UK heavyweights, he is woeful. This was just meaningless marking time stuff. Dross.

Hard to imagine that patsy was going to get a world title shot if he hadn’t taken on Fury,

Wilder must be furious he didn’t get to add another bum of the month to his record.

Fury has a ton of ability and I've always picked him to beat Josh. That pile of dog poo they called a boxing card last night was awful. I don't see how it was better than any of the Joshua cards.
