There's talk of Bryant Jennings as well. Either way these soft options could backfire big time if Arum is using them as a way to build up Furys US profile. Fury stinks the joint out against lesser opponents - generates zero excitement. Needs someone who at least is going to bring it to Fury and take some big risks. Fury v Jennings would send people to sleep.

Schwarz is not very good at all, but is there a long list of names wanting to fight Fury? I'd like to see him face someone like Ortiz, but presumably the Cuban wants to wait around for another shot at Wilder. Pulev wouldn't risk his IBF mandatory position to face Fury and presumably Hearn wouldn't risk Whyte as he wants him to face Joshua again in the future. If it's not Schwarz it will end up being someone like Helenius or Hammer...

The weigh-in (to see where Fury's condition is) probably more interesting than the fight.

Won't be competitive at all. It will be nice to see Schwarz lose but this is not very exciting.

If Fury wins then him and Whyte will be ranked 1 and 2 in the WBO and WBC. WBO mandatory or final eliminator has been due to be called for a while as well...

First we heard Oscar Rivas...
Then we heard Bryant Jennings...
Now we're hearing Tom Schwarz????? LMAO!
I wonder where this will land? Maybe Dillan Carman?

Schwarz is a never was who will never be. Doesn't seem to have the heart, nor the skill set to reach any high level. Seems obvious that Fury wants an easy payday. Very disappointing.

Also, Schwarz is an unknown in the United States. How does that help Fury build a name here? The more this unfolds, the more frustrated I get. I'll bet he comes in out of shape and never gets back to the level he attained against Wilder.

I don't get it,Fury even at his most aggresive can bore the tears from anyone and he's getting paid a fortune to headline in Vegas against a no hoper, doesn't make sense to me.

It’s a strange one.

Aside from the seemingly poor opponent, I’ve never seen him fight but he’s hardly pulling up any trees, I suspect they’ll be giving tickets away come fight night for this one.

Such a weird move.

Would have been better in UK. But there’s a reason Fury signed a co-promotional deal with ESPN. They have the money to put up, FW does not.

I understand that ,however Tyson supposedly put off Wilder rematch to make a better name for himself in the US market. He should have faced a known US fighter who could put up a fight. This sort of rot is why boxing is losing its popularity so drastically here.

Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO champion Anthony Joshua, believes Fury's upcoming opponent is terrible.

"It’s a terrible fight when you go from rematching Deontay Wilder to then fighting Tom Schwartz. I have to admire Tyson Fury. If he’s getting paid the type of money he’s reportedly getting paid to fight Tom Schwarz, congratulations," Hearn told Boxing Social.

"[Oleksandr] Usyk would be mandatory for Joshua. When you’re a super champion at the weight below and you move up in weight you become automatic mandatory. I don’t think Tyson wants to be a mandatory at 30% when he’s already been offered 40%," Hearn said.

He just fought the only mildly known us fighter. Arum is hoping his personality and some random ESPN+ viewers will bump it up.
