Cheap as chips im guessing. Was a bit too good for anyone to want to put a prospect in with and coming off a stoppage loss now. who wants that fight?

Good show last night; the best so far from lots of aspects .. matchmaking/fights/presentation.

Buatsi looks good, but far from the finished article. He shipped quite a few shots, and from a more accurate puncher he may have been in trouble himself. Will be interesting seeing his next few fights.

I agree, Hill sounded quite panicked giving his motivational speech after the 7th when he looked completely gassed. Hopefully his stamina can be worked on for the future.

lyndon is a less realistic fight than bert or bivol

but it's a good question, how he would compare vs the other top british lhws. i think he's the best of yarde, arthur, johnson. all of course would be good fights but none will happen

I think he comfortably beats Yarde and Arthur but Johnson’s power may cause him problems if he’s as open as he was against Bolotniks.

It was a perfect fight for his development as it showed exactly what he needs to work on. Yarde could have really done with that pre Kovalev.

I think they should really aim to keep JB active and fighting every 3 months. Guys like Vlasov, Mikhalkin, Robin Krasniqi, Umar Salamov or any of the Brits would all be fine.

Yeah - he is open and I’d make Buatsi favourite. Would be a really exciting firefight.

He's now a stone's throw from securing a world title shot. The Bolotniks test was serious and the perfect fight to convince Hearn that he's just about ready for a crack at the big time.

Just look at the careers of Buatsi and Yarde. One size does not fit all in boxing, but sometimes there's a right way and a wrong way.

Great line from Buatsi in the post fight interview when questioned about the energy he put into the 6th round "I sat down at the end of the 6th round and said, Buatsi, who said you could empty your tank?"

Buatsi will be taken into deep water if he wants world title fights and if you want to win them you have to be able to swim.
A perfect learning fight which stands him in great stead.

It did kind of underline what a talent vacuum there is at super-middle and light-heavy currently. It’s very easy for Canelo to pick off these guys at will. I would guess the reality is that Buatsi is not any better than the umpteen fighters Roy Jones outboxed and Dariusz Michalczewski wore down when they were recycled in the 90’s.

Poor card, caught Buatsi fight there. Solid enough test but Bolotniks never really troubled him.

It's a shame the other 3 guys are with Frank as they're the fights to make.

What a brave character is Bolotniks, Buatsi had a real beast in front of him, big puncher & heart of a lion.
Classy box punching from JB, but he’s a bit rockem sockem, and it’s going to be an exciting career now he’s finally stepping up.

If it finally happens it will be a hell of a fight versus Anthony yard, and dangerous for both of them, because for all his faults yard is a dangerous combination of big heart, big punch and excellent chin, and buatsi definitely gets hit…

I sped through the undercard because it looked crap but the DAZN presentation set up is excellent. Costello on the money and Chris & Fletcher make a good team.

I watched the Rigo fight showtime 9am repeat, oh my God someone get rid of that guy, boring the bollocks off everybody …thankfully the Ortiz fight was fantastic. Proved he’s the real deal last night

Buatsi looks like he feels sorry for himself sometimes in fights, when he almost got the stoppage in round 6 he then looked out of sorts in 7 and 8.

Should make an offer for Callum Johnson fight, he's 35 and treading water now. Next opponent is TBA in September.

I think your right about a vacuum of talent at LHW- at least for now. It's only temporary as there is a raft of guys who have moved up, coming up, or are turning pro. I expect LHW to warm up next year.

Perfect fight for Buatsi. He handled it right and as long as he learns from it then it’s a perfect night. Swinging with his chin hanging and endurance are things he can work on.
One thing is for sure… he stays away from Bivol for his next fight.
