Bullshit stoppage, of course Parker was hurt but not enough to get stopped, first of all what a fight, really enjoyed it, loved the back and forth action, Parker started off well behind the jab but Wardley came into it round 2, hurt Parker slightly who then lost his shape, stopped throwing the jab, you sensed someone was gonna land a right hand clean and turn the others lights out, tide shifted again, Parker got his jab going again picked up a few rounds on the bounce but Wardley has a habit of landing something out of nothing and hurting Parker, both there's chins were excellent, Wardley is quick, left hand low , just about rode they rights Parker was landing, he's more dangerous when hurt, seen it before and sure enough just when it looked like Parker was hurting him , Wardley hurts Parker, opened him up, had him backed up but Parker was still making him miss with most, you knew Howard Foster would be flapping about again and sure enough he's early and ruined yet another great fight

I don’t know what everyone else thinks but I thought it was really bad.

One thing is Parker was pawing at a cut on his eye which made him possibly look more hurt than he was, but I didn’t think he was actually hurt at all and also I didn’t think many of the windmilling shots were actually landing it was maybe 1 out of 10 that seemed to actually landing but still the ref jumped in.

Parker has been on a tear but Fwank would rather sacrifice him to launch Wardley or Itauma (not ready) into a more sellable title fight.

Read the forum about Parker vs Usyk and most comments are something like "Parker deserves the fight, but we have already seen his level and Usyk should beat him handily".

It WAS a bad stoppage - with what’s at stake at this level - but forgivable.

Joe was on the ropes with a broken nose and not throwing back and PROBABLY woulda been stopped rightfully soon enough.

Dubois ducked him and took the Usyk fight. Then trying to stay busy as well.

Yes something changed in Parker at the end there. I’d have been confident he could ride out the storm earlier, but he was in for a hiding the way Wardley was on him.

Horrible stoppage. Great fight, but that ending really ruined it.

Parker was too heavy. Every time he had Wardley in trouble he gassed and had the tables turned on him. I think Parker a stone lighter closes out that fight.

I imagine Smith will say he prefers it to be stopped early than late, you never know what might happen with the next punch

I know quite a few people are saying Wardley probably would have stopped him, but in those last 10 seconds his punches seemed be slowing, becoming less accurate and wild........ to me it looked like he shot his bolt and imo that's why Foster has jumped in.

I reckon he thought it was now or never, because Parker was only going to recover and he wouldn't get another chance to get the home foghter the win.

I get that, but a good game plan has to cover everything

His consistency is variable depending which corner the hurt fighter is in.
Often he stops it when the fighter isn't hurt at all

I thought it was a tiny bit early but not a travesty. Just a British stoppage.

It's not like Howard Foster has done anything like this before.
