Sounds like Yarde about to step aside
Getting paid for dodging a bullet is the way it looks to me.

Frank secretly hoping the Canelo fight gets made: his man dodges an incredibly tough assignment, the Russian gets a pasting from Canelo, increasing yardes chances when he faces him afterwards

Oh I’m sure they’ll find themselves a vacant title

Looks like Yarde has won the lottery here if Kovalev fights Canelo
Huge step aside money ,
Avoids a near unwinnable trip to deepest Russia
Still stays mandatory
Will end up fighting for a vacant title at the copper box as Kovalev won’t beat Canelo in Vegas and even if he does there will be a huge rematch and Kovalev will end up getting stripped
Canelo will have no appetite to defend the WBO light heavy title should be win

.... and Tunde definitely dodged a bullet!
If he took his usual behaviour to Russia he may have found himself in a spot of bother with the local “lads”

Big ask but I don't think it's beyond reality.

At the end of the day it’s a two horse race I suppose and one of the horses could be ready for the glue factory :)

Call me mad too but I think Kovalev could beat Canelo. Its a world of difference moving up to fight Krusher than Rocky Fielding

They can if they knock him out, which isn't feasible below LHW but could be with an elite LHW puncher or above

The negotiations for the Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev fight aren’t looking too good right now due to the prior obligations for the Russian knockout artist. Kovalev’s previously scheduled August 24 fight against Anthony Yarde in Russia is getting in the way of the Canelo-Kovalev fight, according to Mike Coppinger. Kovalev has “obligations” with the organizers of his August 24 fight in Russia. As a result, it now appears that Kovalev will go ahead and face the 27-year-old Yarde next in Russia.
If Kovalev beats Yarde, then he can defend his WBO light heavyweight title against Canelo Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs) later on this year if both fighters are still interested in taking that match. Canelo wants Kovalev’s belt, because it’s the easiest of the four titles for him to win at 175. Kovalev is the perfect opponent for Canelo. With Kovalev’s vulnerabilities in taking body shots, his advanced age and poor stamina, he’s someone that Canelo would have a good chance of beating.
Obviously, Canelo would gain more respect from the hardcore boxing fans if he aimed high and took on IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev, WBA champ Dmitry Bivol or WBC champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk, but those guys are all fighting on a high level right now. They’re not looking old like Kovalev.
Canelo free to defend against Derevyanchenko
In the meantime, Canelo, 29, is free to defend his IBF middleweight title against his mandatory challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-1, 10 KOs) in his next fight, as recently ordered by the International Boxing Federation. If Canelo chooses not to make that fight, then he can either vacate his IBF title or wait for the sanctioning body to strip him of his title.

This is true ... he needs to catch him super clean though, as Canelo looked bullet proof against GGG who everyone used to say hit like a LHW

Hearn was still talking Kovalev / Canelo last night - I wouldn’t be surprised if Yarde gets £500K/£750k to step aside and then fight the winner - money talks.
Hearn just talks. He ain’t got nothing to do with Canelo.
Canelo wouldn't be fighting yarde, but I think he would beat kovalev and yarde may get a more attractive vacant title opponent than going to Russia. I've been huge on kovalev since before most but he's fragile now. Yarde could take him out depending on Anthony's chin.

If Kovalev is taking Yarde seriously it's a big ask for Anthony.
Makes me laugh though that Yarde & co have banged on and on about only having a few amateur contests and the opposition being picked accordingly, avoided all meaningful domestic opposition, but then all of a sudden it's ok to jump in with Kovalev.
It's all rather odd.

Yeah. I know Canelo took GGGs bombs which is some going but I reckon Krusher has got more one punch power. Much bigger man than GGG and a lot more leverage. Then again he might be a bit past it now, a peak Kovalev would be a very daunting proposition for anyone smaller than him.

Canelo is another cheating PED scumbag anyway, would love Kovalev to smash him up.

chavez jr was bulletproof at mw, not hurt much at all vs canelo or lee or martinez,, but then got dropped and knocked out when fighting a legit lhw contender.,
canelo beats kov but i wouldnt just keep assuming hell be unhurtable as he moves up to weights like 175 where hell look like a little kid

Callum is just massive compared to guys like GGG and even Jacobs. It would be a totally new size stratosphere for canelo. hed look like a midget.
