I dunno about better, but definitely close.

Edgar is great but at age 36 I don't think he can compete with this version of Holloway.

I don't think the Alvarez vs Gaethje was on par with Oliviera vs Medeiros because the latter was more competitive overall, Alvarez put a one sided beating on Gaethje, who only really troubled Eddie with leg kicks, it was a good fight but I think it was more an amazing performance.

Cowboy vs Yancy though, that was fuckkn lit. I can't understand how Oliviera got the win, Medeiros must have an oustanding ability to take shots.

Gotta be said though, Lightweight is a wonderful division!

Ngannou got me on the hype train with that shot! I like Stipe but I would love to see this beast's next stop be the HW champ, and I hope he's making millions because to go from homeless to that in 4 or so years is the stuff of dreams.

Who do you's see beating Max at featherweight? And should he move up?

Me too, they're both better. I don't think aldo would have ever beat either of them. Definitely not max, Aldo always had poor stamina.

Hard to say, they were both awesome. I'd favor Eddie/Justin slightly.

I don't know, Alvarez had half a face and one leg, I was on my feet at home alone watching the third round and it looked to me like Eddie was going to get stopped. Definitely an amazing performance. MMA has away of wiping away invincibility but I don't see anyone beating max right now. Ortega is an interesting prospect, let's see what he does next week. Maybe garbrandt.

I've become a bag fan of Paul Felder. Thought he was nuts for staying on the ground with sich a lethal submission aryist. But it paid off.

Yeah, Max is on fire. But, like you said, with this sport, you never know. I had that feeling about Pettis before the RDA fight.

Ortega would make an interesting champion. I can see him drawing a lot of fans to the UFC. Good lookin kid and carries himself well. Cub should be a stiff test for him. If he is impressive against Cub, he just may give Max some problems. Cub is definitely towards the upper echelon of the division.

Aldo needs to switch camps, he won't because or his fierce loyalty to his coach who did help raise him and got him where he is today. He's become a one trick pony somehow despite being one of the most well rounded fighters in MMA history. It just made no sense at all to me. Aldo himself said Max would want to strike with him because he isn't a good grappler. We can talk about his cardio all we want but the fact is he gassed against Max because he threw everything to knock him out. When you throw everything like that it doesn't matter who you are you're going to tire significantly, he's just not a smart fighter and it calls into question whether or not Dede is a good strategist as both of his star fighters have been victims of using the same gameplan every fight regardless of who they fight. He was able to beat Edgar without gassing out because he was able to control the pace and use his jab and wasn't trying to knock Edgar out with every strike. He was able to beat KZ because after breaking his foot he used plan B and wrestled very effectively.

Aldo has the tools to use a GSP type gameplan against fighters like Halloway or McGregor but he(or his team) don't have the brain to envision or pull off using his entire skills set. It's not talent or skills that have stopped him becoming GOAT but rather an obvious lack of smarts that have effectively derailed his career.

He's not good enough. Beating Faber and mendez is a far cry from Conor and Max. Edgar is right in the middle, that's Aldo's best work.

I didn't say he didn't get beaten I said his failure to use his grappling was why he didn't win. He met guys who were better strikers and like a moron didn't you an obvious plan B.

Maybe you need to get your head out of your ass and see how exceptional his grappling is and how stupid he is to refuse to use it.

My entire post that you seem to have an issue with was saying that Aldo needs to use his grappling and adapt/change his gameplan if he's going to fight guys who can strike with him. So what exactly are you disagreeing with then?

You are acting as if a grappling first attack from him ensures victory. He has never shown to be that kind of grappler. Not easy to change styles after all of this years of training, damn near impossible.

I think them getting their asses kicked by him really motivated them as well. Especially Max. Unfortunately, it may have ruined Aldo.
