Come on Bernard, do the business!! Lets hope if Bernard wins he gets the props he deserves on here. Sometimes Dusty bins fans are a bit disrespectful!

no way, the thai usually gets better and stronger as a fight goes on and his workrate is incredible. dunne won't be able to keep up if he is still on his feet after eight.
Well he faded a bit against Sidorenko. That was an even fight for eight high energy rounds (4-4, fairly easy to score), but Sidorenko pulled away winning the last four rounds in the eyes of most observers.

Ouch - Bernard showed a lot of heart getting back up after the heavy heavy heavy knockdowns.
Fair play to the Thai who deservedly got a great reception from the home fans after the fight.
Well done Poonsawat.
The only consolation was the wee bit a money I had laid on a Poonsawat KO victory!

Unless Poon is the genetic twin of Kostya Tyszu... those knockdowns looked a bit whiffy to me.
Or Dunne's chin is really that bad? i cant say i've watched too many of his fights but the shots he went down from, in just the 3rd round were not anything like hayemakers.

poonsawat can bang and he caught bernard flush right on the jaw twice! he generates a lot of power with short, sharp punches inside - that's his game, it has to be with a short reach.
dunne hasn't got the best chin in the world but those shots would have troubled anyone.

JM Lopez would have walked through those shots

I think most guys would have walked through those shots. Dunne's chin is made of glass or is at least close to it. Cordoba and Poonsawat arn't even punchers. Poonsawat is strong, but not the massive hitter Dunne made him look like.

Poonsawat is a tiny super bantamweight, isn't he? He wasn't even a big bantam, so this loss must really sting.
Dunne needs to use that exceptional left jab and stay away from short guys like Poonsawat and Martinez.
Interesting what Dunne and the Dunne supporters say and do. On message boards they really did gloat over Munroe/Maloney, about what Dunne could do and why Munroe shouldn't figure in it. Now it is round 2 of Dunne-Munroe bickering...

From what i saw of those punches, his head didn't even rock.
I think it was the second, a cuffing hook clipped his chin, then there's a good moment's pause before he then reacts and falls over like he'd been hit by a lump hammer.

While I have sympathy for him and think he’s a really sincere and nice guy this was the first fight he was compelled to take, against opposition that wasn’t handpicked by his manager.
i also think those punch,es would have dropped anyone taking them, poon has a high rate of ko,s

You should have read the rest. I was curious as the pronunciation of the Krating[etc.] part. No need to take the piss, Mr Thai.

I'm not taking the piss and of course I don't expect people outside Thailand to know how to pronounce Thai! But surely you can see the humour in that little Q&A above: "How do you pronounce Poonsawat?" "Poon-sa-wat".

sounds like he might be moving up to featherweight, going by recent article on BS. this is what i thought would happen. obviously nothing is confirmed. surely his collapse v little poonsawat can be partly explained by the effects of weight draining.

Can't cut it at the lower weights so move up to a heavier division and try to cut it there! Great logic. Witter is the same!

the best man won, but dunne looks like a skeleton in there. his body looks terrible.
it's a shame he didn't dump the title, and get that lucrative fight with vazquez sorted out, in hindsight. he would likely have taken a beating but i reckon he could have had a better chance of finding the form he showed v cordoba.
