Esquiva Falcao vs. Patrice Volny
Back in May, it was rumoured that GGG was hoping to face Esquiva Falcao in August as a stay-busy ring-rust warm-up bout to prepare for December’s title unification against Ryōta Murata, but apparently DAZN wouldn’t sanction it.
The IBF are sticklers about their champions abiding by their rules, so if Esquiva Falcao (who boasts an obscenely padded resume that is reminiscent of Mark De Mori’s) become GGG’s mandatory challenger, will DAZN force Golovkin to vacate his IBF strap?
I suppose GGG could vacate his IBF title, because he’d still hold the WBA version of the middleweight championship.
By the time he faces Ryōta Murata, GGG would have gone more than twelve months without performing a mandatory defence of his title, which means he’ll have to defend it very soon, because he doesn’t have a valid reason to justify his inactivity.
On a side note, if GGG vacates and Esquiva Falcao beats Patrice Volny, will the Brazilian be elevated to becoming the IBF world middleweight champion or will he have to face another padded resume hype-job (Denis Radovan) for the vacant title?

It’s an eliminator. He wouldn’t just become champion.
He’d need to fight the next highest ranked opponent for the belt. Unless this was for the interim IBF belt, which it isn’t.

Terence Crawford is charismatic when it comes to his written social media posts, but he’s as dull as dishwater whenever you put microphones and cameras in front of him.
No wonder Top Rank have been trying to offload him.
Bud is a very good fighter, definitely a first-ballot future Hall-of-Famer, but he’s terrible at self-promotion - listless and boring.
He could even make a glass eye go to sleep!

Weak undercard. They aren't trying anymore. Arum especially, completely out of touch with reality. Even though I really want to see the fight I've convinced myself not to buy it, because it's a rip off. It should be on ESPN on cable tv. I was looking for a venue nearby that was showing it. The nearest two are 26 and 35 miles away. Shows how well they advertised this thing.
Going to the one 35 miles away is a bit tempting because it's a casino and I could drop a few bucks on Porter because he's a live dog. Probably end up trying to catch it for free on YouTube Sunday morning..

Tbh I never really rated porter. Top guys should always beat him. Tough guy but if you can't beat him you shouldn't be 1 of the champions. TC should only drop a couple rounds. Would be impressed if he stopped him tho

Whether or not you rate Porter, he has fought everyone and been competitive in every fight. Obviously, if TCraw does not find a way to defeat him, Bud will no longer be “1 of the champions.”

Crawford by 5th round stoppage. Too mean, too sharp, too good. Spences ability to box is a much tougher matchup for Crawford.

I disagree. I think that it is a decent undercard that will give us a look at some early prospects and wannabe contenders that we don’t get an opportunity to see often.
Some called yesterday’s DAZN undercard . They were proven wrong.

I like Porter. He's got almost everything.
Almost, but just that something missing?
Or maybe just that something 'too much'?
It's almost like he forgets he's a talented boxer at times and dives in head first.
Can't do that tonight.

I slightly favour Crawford, but I’ve received some excessively tempting betting odds compelling me to place a bet on Porter scoring a TKO from round 9 onwards.

Yes. And I won some money on the Usyk-Joshua bout.
I also told the forum my plans before executing them.
Porter isn’t just an underdog, he’s a massive underdog.
In my mind, this is a 55-45 type bout where I favour Crawford.
But the betting odds are outrageously in Crawford’s favour.
What are your thoughts? Am I doing something you feel is entirely unreasonable, to the point I deserve to be ridiculed, or can you show empathy with my mindset?

To me it's like, we've all seen what it looks like when Shawn Porter fights well but comes up short. More than once. And I think it's very likely this'll be another one of those. Nice job, Porter, you pushed him well in this close but clear, 116-112-ish loss. You're very good but you're not great.
