Whether you sub or not.. It's gonna set you back £28 regardless.. They made it seem as it those that have a sub will get it cheaper..
This is more the Usyk-Joshua 2..
So basically its the most expensive UK PPV ever?
No belt. No division. two mabey top 10s? vs each other.... Thats pretty fuking cooked.
Most people who buy Sky PPVs already pay for Sky TV. There are a couple ways around it like buying for the iPad or through a Now TV box but it’s not too easy.
I have BT so not sure how that works re: PPVs. Assume you either need to be already paying for BT TV or Sky TV to get it?
Either way DAZN are taking the piss with this. I didn’t have an issue with the £20 price point - that should be including the month’s subs though.

They’ve already got my £8 and I really wanna see it so I’m gonna pay the extra £20 but I agree they’re taking the piss so I’m gonna cancel DAZN after this
I’m thinking the same. At least I’m watching it with a mate who’ll be paying for the chinese.
Save some of the Dim Sum to chuck at the telly when Eddie Hearn inevitably pops up telling us that this is the biggest fight in British boxing
I’m not wasting decent Chinese on Eddie. I’ll lob a chopstick.

Are you also looking to cancel it soon?
What's the next decent card? Bivol-Zurdo?
I’ll see when my next payment goes out and what’s due that month. If it’s average then I’ll cancel and resub when the line up warrants it.
I used to buy every PPV going but I’m being more selective now as well.

The difference is those paying Sky TV they're getting a lot more for their money, than those that sub £7.99 for DAZN.

Hearn Says Eubank-Benn Catchweight Is ‘Bigger Disadvantage To Conor Benn’
“The bigger danger is with Conor Benn, in all honesty,” Hearn told iD Boxing. “When a fighter moves up one-and-a-half weight divisions it’s a big disadvantage. You’re talking about Chris Eubank Jr. coming down three pounds.
“Now, I understand how difficult that can be, especially if a fighter struggles to make 160,” Hearn said. “But his team and the British Boxing Board of Control … [and] his trainer are very comfortable with where he is in that respect. I think he has weighed 158.8 [pounds] quite recently in a fight.”
“So he has to make that weight (157 pounds), if he doesn’t there will be financial penalties,” Hearn said of Eubank Jr. “If he doesn’t he’ll look a bit silly after the Instagram posts. But I think it’s a bigger disadvantage to Conor Benn, stepping up the divisions. He’s gonna be the smaller man on the night. Also, you saw him today, he’s (Benn) 163 pounds, he looks like he’s ready to weigh in for welterweight, you know?
“I don’t see the concerns… first of all Chris Eubank Sr. was concerned for Conor Benn when this fight got discussed. Now he’s concerned for Jr. It’s up to the team that everyone is prepared and ready for the fight.”

Agreed and they’re paying a lot more for it too.

Binned DAZN off a fortnight ago, it's just not worth it at the moment. That said, I'm intrigued by this clash and will probably lay out the £28.
What a shite undercard though...

I find it funny that this undercard is no better than Fury- Whyte. BrickTop rightly got a pasting for it, but Eddie has got away relatively unscathed.

This is very poor form and bad marketing from DAZN.
Forcing people a months sub. It a free months sub either a paid one.
What if you don’t want to sub for a month..
Not like they got soo many events scheduled..
People are being forced to sign up!
I’m getting my streaming websites lined up. Seeing which ones I usually use..

I would have paid 20 quid but 28 is rip off territory , not like you're getting anything much else in the next month

It's kinda brilliant how the profitability of DAZN's UK venture is currently heavily dependent on their access to traditional TV viewing platforms, PPV and Youtuber boxing.
Everything Eddie said he didn't need.

Eubank: We've Never Seen Conor Benn Get Hurt; Will He Be Able To Come Through That?
“That’s the exciting thing about this – we’re gonna find out something we don’t know about Conor Benn,” Eubank said. “We don’t know how he deals with adversity. We’ve never seen him in, you know, we’ve never seen him get hurt. Will he be able to come through that? We don’t know. You know, he’s an unknown entity. He’s on a hot streak right now, knocking out guys. The hype train is there, you know? But this is real.”
“Yeah, that’s fair,” Benn said. “And, you know, there comes a stage in your career where you do take risks. And this is that jump. This is that risk for me. I’m gonna go in there and do exactly what I plan on doing, the same way I’ve done with every other single one of my opponents, who said I can’t box, who said I don’t do this, more experienced fighters, former world champions. Talk all you want. You know, talk is cheap. When we get in there we’ll see, won’t we?”

You get the Katie Taylor show and I think the Ramirez/Bivol show.
Plus the Zepeda/JoJo Diaz card (I think that fight will be class) and the Teraji/Kyoguchi unification show from Japan.

None of my casual mates (the time honoured Boxrec forum way of assessing PPV success) are getting this - none subscribe to DAZN.
None of them bought Joyce-Parker either.
I hope PPVs start to tank all over the shop.

Finally watched the head-to-head. I recommend it. Eubank Jr was absolutely full of it. Really condescending whilst being quite funny. Benn was all business. You could tell he was getting wound up at times and it took some effort to stop him losing it. I think Eubank is trying to force Benn to go after him early. Hopefully it doesn’t happen as I always think when a fighter goes up a couple of divisions their stamina is something that may not hold up given he’ll be taking an extra stone or so through the fight.
CEJ is just like his dad ain’t he.
Yeah, without the talent to back it up. He hasn’t earned the right to act like his father when he has done nothing in the sport

If you're going to fork out 28, fork out 60 and get an IPTV sub for the year. Been on IPTV 4 years now and have zero complaints. Have never had a ppv that I couldn't watch.

56 bucks in australia at 7 AM... Dazn can eat a dick, only thing keeping there is goldenboy cards but im unsubbing now. thats a bridge too far when it comes to disrespect...
You're basically paying the same as what we are in the UK, but it doesn't make sense.
These two are NOT from down under, it's NOT prime time boxing for you guys..
If they're gonna charge you, it should be around $19nz. They'd get way more buys and less people streaming or cancelling..
I don't know if you'd agree with that price.. Just threw it out there.
Maybe DAZN are worried about VPN's? Who knows.
Personaly considering how fuking thin DAZN has been in aus, i kinda think this one at 3-7am should be part of the subscription....
I understand why this is UK PPV, its a kinda historic UK fight. but outside of the UK its just the 10th best welterweight vs the 5th best middle weight, for zero belts, at 7am... how is that PPV by regular standards, let alone game changed standards.
But yea, if any ppv should match the NZ one.

Didn’t realise about Conor’s whacked out backstory, hoping he wins this now, But it’s such a freaky fight I’m really not sure what’s going to happen. He’s definitely the underdog though
