If history tells us anything, it's that the dethroned champion should rebuild. Tyson fought Tillman, Holyfield beat Alex Stewart, etc etc. After losing back to back title fights, the only person that I can recall not easing back is Larry Holmes.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Dec 2022, 09:23 AJ has said he wants the Whyte rematch more than he wants Fury.
Of course he knows Fury isn't gonna fight him in 2023. He has bigger fish to fry next year hopefully.
Doesn't mean he never wants to fight Fury. Just means he in rebuild mode.
I think most of us want AJ back in the mix and so if that means a rebuild period so be it .Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Dec 2022, 09:23 AJ has said he wants the Whyte rematch more than he wants Fury.

Didn't Fury recently say he won't fight AJ?stevec@france wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 05:29I think most of us want AJ back in the mix and so if that means a rebuild period so be it .Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Dec 2022, 09:23 AJ has said he wants the Whyte rematch more than he wants Fury.

It wouldnt be sensible to jump back in the deepest end right now anyway .
but no matter who he ends up fighting there will be some haters having a go .
He’s obviously upset at them messing him around and using his name to get publicity.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 05:52Didn't Fury recently say he won't fight AJ?stevec@france wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 05:29I think most of us want AJ back in the mix and so if that means a rebuild period so be it .Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Dec 2022, 09:23 AJ has said he wants the Whyte rematch more than he wants Fury.

You don't know that though, your making an assumption.mickey1975 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:03 He’s obviously upset at them messing him around and using his name to get publicity.
Not in 2023. He wants Usyk and Joyce.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 05:52Didn't Fury recently say he won't fight AJ?stevec@france wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 05:29I think most of us want AJ back in the mix and so if that means a rebuild period so be it .Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Dec 2022, 09:23 AJ has said he wants the Whyte rematch more than he wants Fury.

But everyone on here KNOWS the exact workings of Tysons mind?keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:11You don't know that though, your making an assumption.mickey1975 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:03 He’s obviously upset at them messing him around and using his name to get publicity.
Well, I don't. So it's not everyone, is it.mickey1975 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:26But everyone on here KNOWS the exact workings of Tysons mind?keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:11You don't know that though, your making an assumption.mickey1975 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:03 He’s obviously upset at them messing him around and using his name to get publicity.
Usyk is the only fight that he needs to cement his legacy IMO. Personally I think Usyk will beat Fury and then win the rematch if there is one. Win or lose, a rejuvenated AJ would be worth the training camp, especially when Fury is so heavily favoured to beat him.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:18Not in 2023. IF he fights Usyk and Joyce next year.. and he beats them, then does he NEED AJ? Maybe not, but would it still be a big fight and would we still want to see it?
Ofcourse.
Regardless of how often he fights, I think he should have 2 or 3 before he fights Fury. Franklin, Whyte, then Wilder would be the right course of action IMO. It's easy for me to say Wilder, but that is not an easy fight to make. If not, Wallin, Hrgovic or someone who's on the up by that time.
mickey1975 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 06:46 Are you going in deep, Keith, Povetkin style, for the Usyk win?
No, in every interview he’s said he wants Usyk next. Nobody has said any different (except Dave Allen, David Price and a McDermott trilogy if that doesn’t come off).
If there's one thing that we've learned, it's that a lot of what Fury says is complete nonsense.mickey1975 wrote: ↑17 Dec 2022, 07:20No, in every interview he’s said he wants Usyk next. Nobody has said any different (except Dave Allen, David Price and a McDermott trilogy if that doesn’t come off).
