Wimpy Halstead told me Buster Douglas hit him the hardest of anyone he faced. Quite the compliment considering Wimpy fought plenty of heavy hitters.

Cool, what was he like?

I interviewed him on ATGRADIO, and have him on Facebook. He's a really easy going, cool guy. Very personable.

I just read an interview with Jack O'Halloran and he said the hardest he was ever hit was by Cleveland Williams.

British HW Richard Towers said he has sparred with Dillian Whyte, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and both Klitschko brothers. The hardest puncher of all was Wilder in his opinion.

Ron Lyle said in an interview that Shavers hit him so hard it was as if the canvas came up to meet him. Said Shavers was the hardest hitter.

Chuvalo said getting hit by Frazier was like being hit by a Porche going 90 MPH
Getting hit by Foreman was like being hit by a Mac Truck doing 40 MPH

I believe that is true. I have never been hit by him, but just looking at his frightening knockout wins on video makes you cringe and say, "I don't want to fight that guy!"

BEST PUNCHER – Goyo Vargas – He hit me so hard, he landed on my arm sometimes I could feel it in my bones. I told Floyd Mayweather when he was fighting him, I said, ‘I believe he’s the hardest puncher you’ll be in the ring with,’ and at that point in his career he said, ‘Yeah, I agree, this guy can really crack.’ Where he got the power from you couldn’t figure out. When he hits you couldn’t figure it out. He didn’t have muscle definition, he had this crazy punching power.

They all could punch but you said which one really caught my attention. Hamed could punch, Barrera could hit really hard, I thought Morales was OK [but] I didn’t think it was that great compared to Barrera. I fought some punchers and I think Goyo Vargas, when he hit you it was a little different. Punching power is a perception. I thought Hamed didn’t hit as hard as Goyo Vargas.
