This is one of my points Auto...I dont see this massive interest in the fight from HBO so the win will not be of great value, it will not lead to a superfight, that was my point!!

i think HBO would have to have him, if he won and if he's as exciting as usual.

By beating a Klit we would have had a legit stake to the crown, we could have had what we dream of already!!
And no, no, no, no, no, I'm not hating on Haye, I want him to win Saturday, and was chuffed when he wiped out Enzo!!
I just see the decision as short sighted beyond belief, he wont get what he wants at the table, and he could get beaten by Valuev, who is no bum!! He would be left nowhere!!
Haye taking this fight has been a very shrewd business move IMO, providing he wins (obviously!). As far as I'm aware the only monet he was getting from the Klit contract was from Setanta who unfortuantely went tits up. He wasn't exactly well known in England at the time (just look at the empty seats at the Barrett fight) which meant that the Klits could bully in negotiations.
Now that this fight seems to have caught the publics imagination and may do extremely well on PPV, Haye's worth will go up for future fights as he's now a crossover star. that's why he's taken this fight and that's why he's been promoting the fornicate out of it and it seems to have worked.

haye ducked both klitschkos. this left a bad taste in everyones mouth in the US. Haye has lost to thompson and been dropped umpteen times. the americans know he will come a cropper as soon as he fights a good heavyweight. ffs people think a man who 50 year old holyfield clearly beat can beat haye

OK, thought for the day, what If haye wins but is very sensible with his tactics, not much use of power and the fight becomes dull but effective??

He's still crossed over and the casuals who have bought into the hype will think that Haye has done well to win against the giant and will still be interested in him.

If Haye loses I cant see him ever fighting either of the Klits. If he wins by a narrow decision it still may not be enough to interest the Klits or the Yanks. I do believe however, a big KO will open doors and spark off a lot interest that IMO would lead to a showdown with one of the brothers. Haye should be planning on a points win using his speed, but that isnt in his nature and that isnt the way he fights. He will want to impress and he wont want the decision made by the judges. Haye will therefore do everything he can to get the KO, something nobody has come close doing to the big man. Its a risky gamble, if it happens Haye will be the man for the Klits to fight. If Haye loses, I think he loses a lot more than just the fight. Personally I think somebody could be starting a new thread tomorrow "Where now for David Haye" but I really do hope that isnt what happens. In brief, I see this as an all or nothing fight for Haye that he must win and preferably BIG.

1.) First British heavyweight champion since Lennox.
2.) Ressurgence in boxing in the UK again- a lot of people I know who don't give a sh*t about boxing are excited about this fight and are going to buy it or go to the pub to watch it. That's great. I hate staying up until 5 in the morning to watch a UK fighter. How annoyed where you to have stayed to watch Hatton get crushed inside two rounds? It's great people can sit in a pub and watch it and get home before midnight.
3.) Regardless of what people think of Haye, the Klitschko contract was terrible. Why have a 3 fight contract with some 'little' guy who nobody (including me and most sensible UK fans) gives much chance of beating you? Vitali and Wlad are both on record as saying they want all the belts in the family. OF COURSE they are going to want to fight David Haye if he wins, and hopefully we can have it in the UK, on European time, in the O2 or something. Let the Americans stay up late for a change Europe is the centre of the heavyweight scene now.
4.) An exciting, athletic explosive heavyweight champ who comes to fight, gambles and can get knocked out. What is not to like?
5.) IF he wins, he has to fight Ruiz before any Klischko. Wouldn't it be great if he got both Ruiz AND Valuev out of the picture for everybody? If he loses it's Valuev-Ruiz lll and nobody in the world wants to see that. It will be awful for everyone if he loses.
I still don't know if he'll win. I can't call it, but I've bought it and I am excited to watch it.
