Imagine if, say, Tavoris Cloud had bagged this result. The Americans would be hailing an impressive changing of the guard, rather than bleating on about Jones being shot (he is, but that's not the ONLY contributory factor).
Similarly with Hopkins. When Calzaghe beat him, he could "only" SD a negative 44-year-old spoiler on the slide, but then that same Hopkins beats fellow Yank Pavlik, and all of a sudden Pavlik has lost to a legend.
