how long would it take for yassine to fight for british/european in terms of residency because both olusegun and bayaar have been/are british champions?
Hall v El Maachi would be a great fight though, really good clash of styles and Hall looked in good shape at Upton Park.

I have been in discussio with the lawyers. another 3 years by which time Yassie will be 34 and probably retired. Would be a great fight for Yassine and for the public. Shame it doesnt appear that it will happen. It is on offer from Yassine. Shame it doesnt appear despite the bravado that Matthew (or his team or advisers) have not come forward. But thats boxing!
In the meantime Yassine fights Max Maxwell in a 6 rounder on 19th June. Then hopefully a fight abroad for an International belt in July followed by a defence of the title in London in November. That should put him in the World top 20 with a recognised body and then he can fight for the International belt and then an eliminator for a World title.
He deserves the chance to shine. If he can do it great if not he will have been provided with the opportunity.

el maachi was offered the hall fight on the upton park bill fact.but they said he was cut in the bertrand aloa fight and wouldnt be ready so dont word it like hall wouldnt take the fight because he has already put the offer on the table.

Steve, is this true? I heard similar mutterings on Saturday. It clearly seems from the noises being made that Hall would take this fight. I'm sure if you're worth your salt as a promoter you will make it happen soon.

Yassine had stitches around both eyes when he fought Aloa. Dean Powell (Frank Warrens matchmaker) was in Yassines corner so he would be aware that Yassine could not fight Matthew Hall. It is like offering someone with a broken leg a fight and then saying they turned it down. I doubt Dean would have offered the fight seriously as he would know Yassine couldnt take it at that stage. Yassine will fight Matthew anytime. We are happy to have it on our show and I am also happy for Yassine to take this fight on one of Franks shows (without my incentive though). As Yassine is signed to me I would have to approve him appearing on another show and I did not receive and have not received any formal requests for Yassine to fight Matthew on anybodys show.
We cannot wait forever for this fight to be agreed so we have other options to persue.

I'm sick of this stupid gimmick me.
![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
There's a kid in our gym that I'd have dough on knocking El Machi out.
Joe Selkirk.
El Machi isn't bad, but the title of this thread is a joke.

I'd stick a large amount on Selkirk doing just that. He's that good.

Paul Smith makes an honest and fair comment as Yassine (since he has had professional help) has yet to be able to prove he can compete at the highest level.
We are just aiming to give him that chance.
Joe Selkirk and everyone else has an open offer.
Yassine would happily destroy Selkirk.
We are happy to make that match.

you seem very deluded to how much ability el maachi has with comments like he would happily destroy selkirk and calling every man and his dog out for your man and wanting to catapult him into the world ratings.i admire your belief in him but i watched his fight with bertrand aloa and if it want for a scrappy knockdown he would have been beaten and the grublys fight he looked sloppy. As soon as he steps up in class he gonna get found out again and i know you bang on about him not training properly and having been told to lose fights but he still has 4 losses against domestic level fighters.good luck with your promotions anyway

No, it wasn't a challenge, or an offer of a fight. Selkirk has a proper promoter and manager and will do a lot more in the game than El Machi. I certainly don't make his fights.
My point is he is over rated and the gimmick of being avoided is a load of bollocks

to be honest ive not seen el maachi fight , hes not one whos names ever jumped out at me to go and watch , but having read this thread for a few weeks or whatever now , if hes ever on a friday fight night or fighting local to me ill watch , just out of curiosity , so regardless of wether people are fed up with hearing it , and obviously the title of the thread is likely to be vastly untrue , its still a case of his promotor has bigged him enough to get people curious , i can not critices a promotor for that , what i would criticise though is if this is all bollox , im sure time will tell , i reckon i know 2 lads myself that would take the fight if they were active but both have been out of action for a year .
Why dont you get him into the next prizefighter they do at his weight ? , that would give him some exposure if hes as good as you think .

Firstly I did not start this thread and to be honest it is over the top. I have matched Yassine twice in three months. What wouldm be fair to say is that he is avoided because he is a very difficult, awkward and skilled boxer who offer nothing to a top contender. By that I mean he does not qualify for British European and commonwealth titles. whilst he is ranked 50 in the World by Box Rec we need to get him ranked with the recognised world bodies to make him an attractive fight for top opponents.
He wanted to go in the last Prizefighter. He was not allowed to go in. I have heard two reasons. I do not know for sure which one is accrurate. Firstly that the promoters did not want him as he did not qualify for the aforementioned titles and secondly that many boxers threatened to withdraw if he was in the competition.
My job is to try to get him bouts that he was not getting before and to elevate his ranking. That is what i seek to do. all publicity is good publicity but as I say I did not start this thread or make this statement.
I did offer the "bounty" to get boxers to accept fights with im which ranged from £15,000 to £50,000 but this was met apart from one boxer with no response so you can guess why someone would write this thread Paul.
He is avoided without a doubt but hopefully we can ensure that in 12 months he has something to offer (rather than just money) and ranked boxers will take the challenge.

He must be good if all the cruiserweights were threatening to withdraw from the "last prizefighter"

Fighting Max Maxwell will hardly prove he is the most avoided man in Europe. he was beaten easily by Prince Arron two weeks ago and will be softened up again on Friday when he meets Brian Rose.

Its a tough situation to be in basically because he is a foreign boxer there is no space for him on the British scene or European for that matter. So he can't take the stepping stone fights that other British fighters can. He has to therefore aim for world level/ranked opponents which is nigh on impossible. I am not claiming he is the best boxer in the world but he has an awkward style that is'nt going to make anyone look good beating him . Its a case of who needs him? Sadly i can't see anyone being goaded in to fight him by any amount of money

wrimc makes a very intelligent and correct observation.
Yassine potentially has a big fight in Morocco on 24th July so needs a warm up. He will get a big fight in the UK in November.

Because with max beating brian rose who had a title shot lined up we are now trying to get him something more substantial than a 6 rounder against a dangerous opponent ,but not before we made sure we had a guy ready to give elmachi a fight in place.
