the reason the opponent was not up to standard was warren wont pay the money to get good fighters in with tony i bet tony didnt even get £15'000 for last night when infact you should be getting £60.000 plus for commonwealth and more to defend it ????
Fw dose pay good Degale on more then 60 k a fight :TU:
i do not for 1 minute believe degale is on that. maybe 20 is realistic.

What the f*ck are you on about - £60,000 to defend a commonwealth title?? - you truly are barking mad and have no concept how money works within the sport.

For a heavyweight to defend a British title - he would be on about £30k - £35k

And unless you are a mega star on an extremely good contract with your promoter the more you go down the weights the less money you will receive.

The only time I thought a promoter paid over the odds is when Meaty Mick Hennessy won the purse bids for Froch/Dodson and I believe Dodson was on or around about £30k - I am willing to bet that was the best pay day of his career.

But going back to the Commonwealth title - seriously and sadly - the money people are not interested in that title - ask Maloney on here to see if I am right or not.

Tony as you know I respect you and have witnessed your power first hand, saying that the level of opponent you are being given is doing you no favours :(

I appriciate fighters are avoiding you and for good reason but Frank can and HAS to get you the fights you and your fans deserve. Get Fry in with you ASAP and then climb the ladder by beating legitimate opposition.

Enjoy your title and PLEASE have a long talk with FW about the level of fighters he is allowing you to take on. Congratulations and all the best in the future (I still feel sure we will be seeing each other within 14 Months  )

I fully understand what your saying mate but it's just not possible to force these guys into the ring, I speak with Frank & Dean on a regular basis and they tried really hard to match me in Liverpool. Oakey(6 weeks notice), McKenzie (6 weeks notice),Fry (8 weeks notice).. The list goes on and on!! You know what Im like and that I'll fight anyone, I fought your guy when I was 2-0 and your guy was 4-0 so you know I'll take any risk put to me... I just hope this belt can start to draw some people out.. All I'll say is I will fight any man in the rankings!! I can't say it enough BUT I won't dodge ANYONE..

Thanks again for the support guys..

what ring expieriance do you have as a ref, coach, fighter??

when a ref goes into the changing room before he will purposly inspect the fighters eye's as they may look a little naturally gone so there aint no confusion when he looks at them
i have no experience but that was an early stoppage, quite blatently

The stoppage was correct the lad was clearly hurt, he was knocked down just prior to the stoppage but the ref didn't count it because he was bungled to the floor after the punch landed. good stoppage

15 K would be a good pay day for contesting a vacant title I reckon, Ive heard of British champs getting less than that. The truth is that unless your a superstar there really isn't that much money in boxing.

Nice one are kid!! You'll be next!! Without doubt are city's brightest light!!

Guys your way off with purses and Spud I don't think you've dealt with an FW fighter mate so your way off when it comes to your amounts for certain fights, Also DeGale is a very very very well paid fighter which is only what he deserves after capturing gold at Beijing.. Good luck to any fighter getting top money..

If Bellew, Selkirk, the Smiths etc. keep winning there could be some really big boxing nights in Liverpool down the line. There are some good lads coming up around here.
