That's right, because of Lewis's perceived vunerability for a number of different reasons, the Rahman fight whilst most certainly an upset wasn't on the scale of Ali-Liston/Tyson-Douglas e.t.c

What was Ken Jones thinking when he said that Mckenzie is the only British fighter to win world titles at three different weights???......... hasn't he heard of Bob Fitzsimmons?........ and Bob was a real world champ at each weight (Middle, Heavy then light-heavy) ....I ve nothing against Mckenzie but he only wore versions of world titles, and pretty poor versions at that!....... shame on you Ken!

Yes, Ken Jones used to be a big name in the world of journalism. Now he's just a has-been.

Rahman beating Lewis was not a huge huge upset. Lewis' chin isnt good and Rahman can punch.

Curry had real big problems making the weight when he fought Honeyghan, although I agree it was a huge upset and, yes, one of the biggest.

Ali - Foreman was a massive upset, people actually thought Ali would die.

Robinson was past his prime when he fought Turpin and the fight was in Earls Court, afetr all, but a big upset nonetheless.

Some consider Jones the best of all time, and whilst I dont agree, I do feel he is up there with the best of them.

Yes, if Tarver had, say KO'd him, I would have voted it the biggest upset in the history of boxing.

I'm inclined to agree, Silkov but at least Ken is writing about the game.

You originally said it would have been "one of the biggest upsets of all time", KO artist, which I agreed with. But I wouldn't have called it the biggest upset ever. Not ever. Tarver was the champion and Jones was struggling at the weight. There was also a flood of money bet on Tarver in the days leading up to the fight. That would never have happened before the greatest upset ever.
Some results are so incomprehensible that nobody gave the winner a chance beforehand, not even the winner's golden retriever. Jimmy Braddock's win over Max Baer would be an example of that. Leonard-Hagler another example. I would cite John H. Stracey's stoppage of the great Jose Napoles in Mexico City in 1975 as a third. Or Laing-Duran. Laing has just been beaten by Reggie Ford at the Albert Hall when he travelled to the States to shock Duran. Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali in only his eighth fight. There's many many bigger upsets in my opinion.
