You're all barking up the wrong tree, it's nothing to do with Spud or Hennessy.
Whoever made reference to Terry Marsh last week is the person to blame, nobody else.
Hayabusa, you enjoyed that post to Spud didn't you - i could tell
I certainly did
Spud, WITHOUT power, what will he do?
He will turn up moderating some forum, about cooking or somthing, with Lightsoot in a few months, banning and deleting as he goes.

Yeah , off ESB General board.
Jimmy seems like a straight talker. He ain't leaving the sinking ship from what i can see, which leads me to believe that the British board will re-surface only without Spud at the helm...Maybe Jimmy ? Good luck to him, it's a labour of love i reckon.
The General forum was pretty good in Mid-Late 2002. Farmboxer was at his best back then, he has gone of the boil recently, it was before the cretins took over in early 2003. The British forum was small but good,( i remember thepocketrocket, jimmy and getinthering being there) untill Febuary, when a ugly cancer started to appear on the forum, Spud was his name, he even threatend me with banning, BEFORE he was a moderator. The reason?, pressing him about a quote he made about Hide- Holden being a 50:50 fight, i knew it was a bullshit quote, and proved where he got it, so he reveted to type and tried to get me banned. C*nt!

Some strong opinions here eh guys!?
The forum coming down had nothing to do with Spud being pro Hennessy at all. Why would "whoever it was" want to take down the forum just because it was pro Hennessy? It had more people who were pro Matchroom and Sports Network!
It certainly had one man who was very complimentary to a particular Sports Network fighter. Now who was that?
The work both Spud and Lightsoot did for ESB was great and they put alot of time and effort into it. Indeed, i believe if it hadn't been moderated so well then it would have been closed LONG ago. It's only fair that if your out of order then you got booted.
It's just a shame that some people took exception to the forum and went about having his/her say in the wrong way. If the person who had it removed felt so strongly about it then why not come on and have your say instead of hiding behind legal action.
By the way should i try and wait outside the Braehead Arena to see if a certain someone shows his face and then have words with him?

Why is this being taken so seriously, its apart of life. I was a member of ESB for many years, before you lot came, very well moderated then, infact ESB was better but it just grew too big for is boots, had too bigger ego.GAV wrote: By the way should i try and wait outside the Braehead Arena to see if a certain someone shows his face and then have words with him?
I think it says a lot when ESB won't give you people an explination for why they shut down the forum. I don't think Spud's at fault for this, as it seems he's as clueless about what happened as much as you guys are, but that doesn't mean I have an once of compassion for him. I think he he did a weak job as moderator and wasn't fair to the posters. Honestly, I don't think boxrec is "superior" to ESB, but hey, if people are going to choose to come to our boards now, that's fine with me.
I've never had much confidence in the higher-ups at ESB (I used to write for their site), and this pretty much confirms it.

im assuming your referring to BE or ESB as a whole?? theres nothing wrong with ESB..the problem is promoters typically of the FW mould who are evidently EXTREMELY SENSTIVETT wrote:Why is this being taken so seriously, its apart of life.
