Yes, it's a decent enough match. A lot of people disagreed with Botha being knocked back by the board, and I'm sure Rahman's in better nick than Botha.
It's actually funny the amount of people who have mentioned 'Will the BBBoC santion Rahman'. They're talking like Hasim is 48, fat and punch drunk which isn't the case on all 3. Recent interview a few months ago show's he speaks clearly and looks healthy:

As i mentioned before Rahman has never lost to a boxer who was outside the Top 10 Heavyweights at the time of the fight and he'll come into the fight in good shape and expecting to win, he's proabably seen tapes of Fury and had a chuckle to himself about how easy it's gonna be to spark Fury out plus picking up a good payday doing it.

He will definately be sanctioned...no problem.

Good. Putting aside the rights and wrongs of Munroe's defection, a fair bit of credit has to go to Hatton for initially putting together a half decent undercard and then rebuilding it when it collapsed.

He actually sounds a little punchy there. Struggles to get his words out a little and has that slightly slurry & nasal sound that punchy guys do.

He's look terrible lately, he was absolutely risible against Wlad and he's taking 6 rounds to beat the likes of Damon Reed?

Everyone Wlad fights look terrible these days. Rahman might have taken six rounds to stop Reed but Toney couldn't do it in ten

I dont think it's a bad fight at all, Fury will bring us some good quotes before the fight and if he's on the bill he'll be the most well known boxer on it bar Khan. Good addition and Rahman would be a name to be make people stand up and take notice, step up from facing unknown Brazilian most definitely.

If people dont want to pay for it why dont u just piss sky off and watch it online or find a pub?

At this stage, this is a really good fight for Tyson. Rahman may be well past his best but he has vast quantities of experience and nous gained from fighting the best over a long period. He's a little outside gatekeeper level, but if Fury can get past him it'll be a fair statement in only his 15th fight. Would surpass anything Chisora has done to date.

not to sure why people are criticising this as a match-up. Rahman may be past his best, but he still has enough about him to take out a cocky upstart..... and he would definitely still be the best name on Furys decent resume thus far.

predictions?

Fury takes it on a very close decision for me.

Good fight and learning, but is it good enough for ppv chief support?

I don't think it would go that way. It's feasible Rahman could steamroller him early and "expose" him, but if starts to go rounds then I see Fury winning most of them. In that scenario, Rahman may still win by a stoppage at some point, but if it goes to the scorecards, it should be Fury comfortably.

Macklin v gevor and crolla v rees were acceptable. But this plus munroe fight are very poor. Adam smith is not doing his job insuring quality on sky bills.

I wouldn't mind seeing that fight TBH.

Rahman is past his best, but he probably still has enough left to give Fury a good workout.

It'd be interesting to see how Fury could handle wily old ex champ.

Great fight on paper, but Rahman's got NOTHING left. He'll come over, try to land a peach, then faulter after 3 rounds. If Tyson is even remotely smart here he'll stop Hasim in 5 or 6 rounds.

Really good matchmaking by Hennessy! He's done such a good job with Tyson he's brought him along at the perfect speed and got him the perfect fights. Tough fight for him but definetly winnable

I'm expecting a one-sided Fury win as well. Judging by a fair share of the posts on this thread, this was some really good match making.

How come British prospects don't have these sorts of fights against former World class boxers more often?

Are they too expensive?

Hats off to Fury he's always looking to step up. Even if he loses (which I dont think he will), it will prepare him better in the long run as opposed to knocking out chumps. Fury has a good chin and I thinks its actually his best asset currently. That doesnt mean he can't get knocked out by Rahman, as when you step up to that level theres always a chance your going to sleep if you make a mistake... Looking forward to this one!!

Rahman is there for the taking no doubt but what exactly has Fury ever done that makes you think he's the man to do it apart from beating a bunch of nobodies and having 2 life and death struggles with the only half decent boxer he's ever faced?

Having said that i do expect the younger, fresher hungrier boxer to prevail more due to Rahman being on the slide for a few years now then because Fury is something special.
