Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on the Khan card?

Post by Final round »

On the Scene

A serious jump up in class for Tyson even though Rahman is past his prime.

Hope it gets made :OhYes: :bag:

Same here, FR. That would be a good fight. I haven't seen Rahman since he lost to Wlad Klitschko, but it looks like he's still knocking out journeymen easily enough.

They do need some interesting support there. Not sure why Lee Purdy is in British title action again, or the significance of the other fights in support ("International" Titles? What is Monroe fighting for- what belt?)

In fact, straight up, its a joke of an undercard.

Nice fight if it happens. Be interesting to see when Rahman lands on Fury.

This is like a lower tier Helenius-Peter fight.

Fury being lent to the Hattons, or more Facebook messages to come?

Interesting match up, helping to rebuild the card.

Good fight and lets not forget that even though Rahman is a good 5 years past his peak, he's still never been beaten by any one outside the Top 10 Heavyweights so will be a dangerous test for Fury.

This is a serious step up. as noted already he can still walk through journeymen and has true hw power so he can't be relied on to follow the script like Sam Peter did. I wondered if they were about to make a bad move when McCall was rumoured. He's older and slower now so i think he could fit the bill.
Rahman would definitely add interest though.

What happened to a Chisora fight, did i miss something?

Will he get licensed here? They've already rejected the likes of Botha and a couple of others.

Exactly. Sky are looking for a fight to save the show's PPV status, but an opponent like Rahman, who might be knocked back by the board, could be seen as too big a risk.

How come he never faced the Canadian Heavyweight Champion Neven Pajkic? That fight seemed like it was going to happen and they traded verbals when Fury was over in Canada.

Rahman seems a valid opponent for a prospect like Fury. He's won his last few fights and only ever lost to the best.

arent the likes of Isaeu and the Brazilian guy that Murray is facing risks as well though?

To the guy who suggests I'm making it up, I've just heard quite a few places report that Fury was on the bill, even a couple of months ago like I said early in the thread, would be a good test for him and give fans a bit more than what's there at the moment.

It's still a disappointing fight for me. There are plenty of domestic rivals for him to face, no need to import has-beens and also-rans.
