when are you out again Tony?
Wonder why they dont just do a rematch on this date? Wld love to see that fight again and so would thousands of others ....Bomber 1 wrote:Don't talk bollocks by bringing me into it! Clev will learn nothing from this either but hey that's up to them not me.. I hope it goes well for them all in Wales..taffytoon wrote:It is a shame that his home coming is against this bloke, even I can't justify this fight, not good for BN as a channel and not good for the sport IMHO![]()
I suppose at least the Welsh /Clev fans have the balls to admit it is a bad match up, if this were Bellew the rest of the forum would be bigging the lad up and justifying the match up.

If that was on terrrestial it would get fantastic figures, it wld be easy to sell as both Clev and Bomber are good guys who talk well and the fight itself guarantees both guys giving everything. Guys like these two top pros must surely wish they had access to real mainstream expsoure.
I was bringing the brown nose Bellew supporters into it not you, For what it is worth I would also much rather it be a rematch with you rather than this unknown.Bomber 1 wrote:Don't talk bollocks by bringing me into it! Who knows I doubt it be anyone good. Why cant he fight Mitchell on this date I dont know least it would sell out the arena.earsjohn wrote:Also been announced on fwarrens website that World Champion (sic) Ricky Burns will be defending his title on 10th March in Glasgow against that worthy opponent TBA.
Does the Top 15 rule apply for Interim titles, or can literally anyone be dug up for this defence?

No surprise mate be honest, they run him down prior to him beating their golden boy ( not allowed to mention namesCardiff-Lad1 wrote:Loads of hate for Cleverly on here, its ridiculous!

I wonder if you apply the same levels to Adrien Broner or Saul Alvarez or Tavoris Cloud?smcb80 wrote:Does Burns actually have a world title at the moment?
Britain could end up having no world champs of any description at the end of the year (hope it goes Froch's way though)
there is absolutely no way cleverly can be considered a world champ

Hmm - they're all different cases you quote.gobbles wrote:I wonder if you apply the same levels to Adrien Broner or Saul Alvarez or Tavoris Cloud?smcb80 wrote:Does Burns actually have a world title at the moment?

Cleverly is young and has some decent wins in a poor division. He wanted to defend in Wales, small venue, difficult time of year to sell a fight, he can keep busy and have a bigger fight in May so it doesn't clash with the Euros or Olympics.
The fight with Bellew was exciting, but with all due respect to Tony, he didn't have the CV to be in the ring with a World Champion.Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:But with the greatest of respects his last 3 fights have been agsinst 2 VERY late replacements and then a belter against Tony Bellew. There's no excuse about this opponent mind (thats if it is defo Fonfara that he'll be fighting as not confirmed yet) but i honestly think that unless Clevs next fight was against Cloud, Shumenov etc then he was always gonna to get slated on here. As i've said many times he's only 24 and is a work in progress and he'd tell you himself, he's got plenty to learn so why rush things???earsjohn wrote:Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:Loads of hate for Cleverly on here, its ridiculous!

With me, there's no hate for the man himself, just a lot of frustration at the procession of no marks that have been served up and sold as World Title challengers.
I'd say my hatred is 50% Warren, 50% Alphabet bodies.
I may be doing the guy a disservice but this record does not warrant a no2 ranking imogobbles wrote:leforge wrote:After this fight it be the WBO african who no2!
He'll be No 1 by then!
That's a very generous analysis, Gobbles.gobbles wrote:I wonder if you apply the same levels to Adrien Broner or Saul Alvarez or Tavoris Cloud?smcb80 wrote:Does Burns actually have a world title at the moment?

Tony the fight isn't even confirmed yet so you can't say you're being matched tougher than Nathan. Good to know you're asking for Gutchnekt but that doesn't mean Nathan has asked for Fonfara.Bomber 1 wrote:Don't talk bollocks by bringing me into it! Who is he asking for and is he happy to be fighting this level of Fonfara? If not can he not ask for a better quality opponent?dewipowell wrote:Tony the fight isn't even confirmed yet so you can't say you're being matched tougher than Nathan. There's probably f**k all he can do about it mind.
An opponent with no notable wins and a KO loss two weights below and never having had a 12 round fight..... laughable really, as are the WBO rankings generally at 175.

Seems that Kell Brook had the right idea, get out while you can.
