Moore was a great Heavy who never gets his due at the weight, but Id have to agree he aint top-20 material.
Re: Top 20 Heavyweights: Categories
Thank you.
He can't be more than a hypothetical at the weight and I noticed that you hadn't categorised him. I think he'd be a nightmare for guys like Holyfield and Langford, but they proved themselves against the big guys. Moore didn't, and in my eyes cannot be ranked amongst such names (in the HW division). The guys obviously a legend at LHW, in P4P and he would slot right in to a smaller heavyweight (CW) category.

He definitely was more formidable at Heavy than hes rated, and I do believe he makes champ in another era (wouldve beaten Sharkey, Carnera, Ellis and Douglas, among others), but there cant be a case for him as one of the 20 best HW's ever, no.

I wonder if the Klitschkos will ever get into people's Heavyweight top 20 in the years to come...

Wlad cracked my top 30 or 40 with his haye win. Vitali is still outside of that. So I can't envision any potential scenario where a guy like Vitali gets into a top 20. At the moment I'd give him a letter grade of G.

If you just look at the lineage (which I understand we're not doing here), there have only been 37 or 38 champs (depending if you recognise Jimmy Ellis), and I think Wlad (Vitali has never been the real champ) might be top-20 in that regard.Crease wrote:I wonder if the Klitschkos will ever get into people's Heavyweight top 20 in the years to come...
