Yes, yes, of course. If there was actually any merit in your totally ludicrous comparison, I would take it apart. It's almost ESB-ish in its merits.keithmoonhangover wrote:I'm still five pints behind you.dondada wrote:Based on your comparisons, I suspect you've had enough.keithmoonhangover wrote:

Lets not suggest that the Beck who faced Wilder was anything other than shot...heck lets look at what Beck had done in the previous few years...
LTKO10 Charr (Jan 2010)
LTKO4 Thompson
LTKO6 Leapai
LKO9 Boslwell
LKO3 Rodriguez
LTKO4 Spzilka
LUD4 Rohznov (a debutant!)
Thats 7 straight losses in the previous 2 years, 6 by T/KO
Prior to facing Bruno LeDoux had won his last 4 (not again anyone of note, but he was winning them), had been stopped 6 times in his WHOLE career, not 6 times in the previous 2 years (lets not forget those stoppages included losses to Foreman, Coetzee, Page, Holmes and Bobick) and his previous loss had come by a split decision to Gordon Racette not a debutant!

Just end the pissing contest and say that Bruno fought a load of bums. The same as Wilder is doing.Datsue wrote:Keith, mate, we're not talking about Owen Beck who fought Barrett & the Yeti. Last year he lost by count out, a one-punch knockout, to David Rodriguez. If that name doesn't ring a bell, may I suggest your own advice & a trip to the search engine of your choice? He then lost to a debutant.
Both of these were before he fought Wilder. He is Wilder's best opponent. Wilder has also fought the second-fattest bloke ever to step into a ring, according to Boxrec. Bruno fought a load of stiffs, but eff me man, think about it: DAMON REED is Wilder's second best win! Damon Reed. Wilder's last fight was against a former lightheavyweight who had one fight in the last five years.
I don't really know what else to say.

I haven't even read the other stuff. I can't face that. I'm already finding one thing difficult enough - the assertion that Scott Le Doux was worse than Owen Beck. The thing people are trying to enlighten you about is that you are making a category error. Wilder's opposition looks like Roman Greenberg's.keithmoonhangover wrote:Just end the pissing contest and say that Bruno fought a load of bums. How many punches landed, 1? 2? If you get in the shower youre going to get wet. Cant be stopping fights, at proffessional level, like thatcrusader wrote:He should've covered up or punched back then.Old bones Ian wrote:stupid stoppage, no way was Mark out of it

He was protecting himself, Calkay was throwing alot but not many were landing. Thompson didn't look out of it. He was tucking up ok .crusader wrote:He should've covered up or punched back then.Old bones Ian wrote:stupid stoppage, no way was Mark out of it

Isnt it rahmans best weight for ages or something?
Got povetkin on pts, so hoping rahman can see it through

I don't think that it should've been stopped either. However, Culcay unloaded close to 20 unanswered punches, several of which I thought landed, and if Thompson wasn't out of it as suggested above, he should've done more to ensure that the referee wouldn't step in.Wales wrote:How many punches landed, 1? 2? Rahman at 7/1 for the win, i still can't see it though

I got 8-1 on a povetkin pts and barca seville to be +2.5 goals double.
Worth a shot.

Re: Allegedly channel - Povetkin - Rahmsn, Pulev - Ustinov
Culcay landed several punches, and Thompson was clearly in trouble. Again, I don't think that it was a good stoppage, but if a fighter isn't out of it they should throw some punches back, and not stand passively as their opponent unloads 20+ power shots on them.Old bones Ian wrote:He was protecting himself, Calkay was throwing alot but not many were landing. 20+ power shots????? Nah, not having that. They have to land to count for starters
Re: Allegedly channel - Povetkin - Rahmsn, Pulev - Ustinov
He easily threw that many power punches during the final moments of the bout; you counted 12 in the brief highlight video I posted.Wales wrote:20+ power shots????? Nah, not having that. They have to land to count for starters
I said that he 'unloaded' that 20+ powershots, meaning that he threw that number of punches. I understand that not all of them were landing, but Thompson was standing passively when he could've done much more to prevent a stoppage.
Re: Allegedly channel - Povetkin - Rahmsn, Pulev - Ustinov
Were discussing this on 2 threads now, unloading power shots doesnt equal a stoppage. Landing them does. I counted 12, 2 landed (i think).
Agree to disagree.

As I've stated several times now, I thought the stoppage was premature. We're not disagreeing about that.Wales wrote:Were discussing this on 2 threads now, unloading power shots doesnt equal a stoppage. Landing them does. I counted 12, 2 landed (i think).

When they showed Povetkin's missus, did anyone else think immediately of that old Simpsons riff, where Homer invents the make-up gun, but sets it to "Whore"?

Povetkin looked really sharp, unlike the ref.
